Rob Zombie

This was my second time seeing Rob Zombie. The first time I saw him was at Mayhem Fest in 2010. This time it was at  Stage AE. Stage AE is a smaller venue. You can either stand in the pit and be close to the stage or move to the grass area. I wanted to be close to the stage as possible.  Exodus was the first opener. Exodus.JPG

At first, Crystal and I were against the metal gate that separates us the crowd from the stage. At one point, the singer called for everyone to Mosh. We were pushed and shoved around towards the back. People crowded us. It was intense. We survived, but the worst was yet to come.

Slayer was the second opener for Rob Zombie.
Slayer.JPGThey are definitely way harder than Exodus. I will never forget this. They played this song titled, “Raining in Blood.” People were pushing around and moshing. People were crowd surfing. I got knocked in the nose by someone’s elbow. Someone got blood on my blue and white converse. I said, “oh no, this is not good.” We managed to get out of the pit and head back to the grass for the rest of Slayer’s set. I was so disappointed. I wanted to get a good spot for Zombie. I was not going to let this get in the way of me being as close as possible to Rob Zombie.

As soon as Rob Zombie’s set started up, we made our way to back to the stage.

When I first saw him, come out onto the stage. I was in shock and in awe. We were so close we could feel the heat from the stage, and the lights it was perfect, and so worth getting bumped around.  He played all the songs I knew.

At the end of the concert, confetti fell from the stage. We manage to grab a couple pieces that fell on us and we put them in our pocket.

I would see Rob Zombie again in a heartbeat.
