Today, I had an interview at Berkshire Hathaway in Cranberry. It was a part-time position, but it was an interview. I needed an interview. When I got to the interview, I showed up 30 mins early. I was in jeans, a cami, and a blazer. I felt so naughty. I never wear jeans to an interview, but I wanted to with this one, for some reason.
When I walked in, 10 mins early before my start time, the receptionist asked me if I wanted something to drink, coffee, or water? I said coffee please. She said, do you want any cream or sugar? I said, yes please. She said, “I could put it in if you want.” I said, “No thank you, you don’t have to.” She gave me 5 sugars, and a container of instant creamer. I used only one sugar packet. The coffee was horrible and on top of that, Chris was 10 minutes late to interview me. He apologized for his lateness and said he had an agent in his office that needed to speak with him. I thought about walking out, but it was show time. I gave him an overview of my work history, and we talked about my resume and what I want out of a career. I told him I am indeed looking for full-time work, so I understand with this being part-time, but if something comes up I am going to have to consider other options. He was upfront with me and said that there would be days where I would have a lot to do, and days where I wouldn’t have a lot to do, and by the time they train me on everything, then the receptionist would be back from medical leave. I truly didn’t see the point in being here.
At the end of the interview, I told him that I had an interview tomorrow for a potential full-time opportunity, and I had a root canal scheduled for Monday, so I don’t know what is going to happen right now, but I want to continue to be in contact with him, and if he finds a better candidate, then I want him to update me. He respected me saying that and understood where I was coming from, and said he wanted to consider me as a candidate.
When I left the interview, the weather outside was like a monsoon. I drove home to Moon Township, and as soon as I got home, I got ready for tomorrow. I was going to my parents, dermatologist, to lunch, and then to another interview at 2pm. I was going to be so busy. I decided to not go to the gym today, but to do laundry, watch Hannibal, write, and get ready for tomorrow.
When Drew came home, I could tell that he had a long day and a long trip home, so I urged him to go to the gym for the sake of his attitude. He took it well and knew what I was talking about. I couldn’t wait to just stay home and relax. Hannibal is calling, well Mads. I am excited for tomorrow, not really nervous, just going to roll with it and see what happens. I can’t wait to see my puppies, Paris and Louie!
