On Saturday, we woke up early and got ready to go to the chiropractor. We had appointments for 9:30am. My adjustment went well and it felt so good. My neck was bothering me, from looking down and reading, but not anymore.
On our way home we stopped and had breakfast at King’s. I am not too crazy about their food, but Drew likes it. I had the veggie scrambler with sourdough toast. Sourdough was the closest thing they had to Italian bread. Drew had a meat omelette.
When we got home, I tidied up the house, my mom was coming over around 12pm. She and I were going to hang out have some coffee and visit for a bit before we left to go to the bridal shower. Drew was packing up and getting ready to go to the gym, but work emailed him, and told him the testing on the software needs to be done now, so he had to stay home and run some tests.
As I was getting ready my mom rang the door bell, I ran downstairs to open the door for her. She came in, and I put on some coffee. Now that I don’t live at home anymore, I love seeing my mom. I miss her, my dad, and the dogs. We have a better relationship, now that I am out of the house. We had some coffee and Drew came in the house, since he had to run testing, he had to turn around come home.
While we were visiting, I told my mom about the show, the office. I showed her some clips. I said, you have to sit down and start watching this series. I can’t believe I never watched this before. She thought the clips were hilarious and she was going to start watching it. I told her it is on Netflix. Drew laughs at almost everything in the show. I don’t. I mean somethings are hilariously funny, and others are just stupid, that is our sense of humor though.
When we left the house, I told my mom I would drive. She grabbed Lisa’s gift out of her car, and put it in my car. I drove us to the shower. It was at Sewickley Hills park. I knew roughly where it was. I turned on my GPS just in case. Surprisingly, the whole way there my mom did not complain once about my driving. When we arrived to the venue, I parked and changed into my leopard high heels. I haven’t work heels in so long, this was going to be interesting.
When we walked into the party room, we set our gifts down at the table, and then mingled with some people that we knew. We hugged and kissed the bride-to-be, Lisa. Then we went and got a drink. We took a seat at the table, with some friends of my mom’s. All of Celeste’s nieces are all grown up now. I saw so many people, that I remember seeing for years, but some definitely looked so much older, while others looked the same. Time is a funny thing. You just think people never age, when you are younger. They are always going to look the way you remember them for forever.
We watched Lisa open gifts, and she got everything that a bride would receive for her shower. Showers are not as fun, when they are not your own, but Lisa looked so happy. My mom and I took a selfie together at the table. It is in the featured image over this blog.We had a great time, and I am glad I stayed the entire time. I was flirting with the idea of leaving early, because I had to write a paper, but I am glad I didn’t leave early and stayed with my mom. When we arrived back to my house, Drew wasn’t home he was at the gym. He was due home shortly. My mom left to go back home. She and dad had plans that evening.
When I walked inside my house, I saw that the mail arrived. I opened the mail and noticed, that my bracelet came in the mail today, It is a bangle bracelet and it says, “Live the Story You Want to Tell.” I just love this message. on this bracelet. I think that it is a positive reminder to be a good person, and live the life that you would be proud to talk about. My friend Lindsay that I went to high school with, sells Paparazzi jewelry and this was my first purchase. I wasn’t sure what I was going to be buying, but the quality is awesome and the price is affordable. I will be on the look out for other pieces to purchase in the future.
After stalling and googling over my bracelet, I walked into our office and started working on my paper. I was so anxious to get this thing over with and put it behind me. I have so much anxiety over it. I just want to do well in Grad School and I care so much.
After awhile, Drew came home, and I figured I would just pretty much wear the same thing that I have on to go out to dinner with Drew’s friends, and their wives tonight. It was his buddy Mike’s birthday. We went to dinner at Azteca, a Mexican restaurant.
It was so good to see everyone. We haven’t seen Mike and Stephanie since Drew’s birthday party. I can’t tell you the last time I saw Kim and Denny. Well I did see Denny when I was leaving Sewickley hospital, sick with the flu, but that doesn’t count. I do not remember the last time I saw Marj, Mike’s sister. The food at Azteca was good. Drew and I had a burrito. We ordered chips, and guacamole. It was so good. I could make a meal out of just chips and guc.
After dinner we went to Primanti’s and had drunk ducks. I can’t tell you the last time I had a drunk dunk. You could tell when we were at Primanti’s that we all were getting over being out and staying out late. We were all so tired. Mike was ready to get back to the house, and have us all over and drink there.
On our way to Mike’s, Drew and I stopped home. I put on some sweats, a t-shirt, and a hoodie with a pair of UGG boots. I was over the heels. I was pretty much in them all day. When we arrived to Mike and Stephanie’s, everyone was winding down some and getting sleepy. We did play this game called bad people, it is like Cards Against Humanity, but you are all given identities. Each person takes a turn fulfilling the role of the dictator. The dictator gives out the identity card to each player. The dictator reads the scenario and the players have to pick from the identities which one the dictator will chose. The dictator has silently chosen who he is going to pick, when the dictator reveals his choice, whomever chose the same identity as the dictator gets a point. It is such a dirty, but hilarious game. Drew and I stayed until 12am, then we went home. I had a long day and we didn’t have the energy to stay out all night.
