Kelly and Ryan’s Wedding

This morning we went to the Wave Pool and enjoyed the sun for a while, then we went home and got ready for Andrew’s cousin’s wedding.
I didn’t know too many people at this wedding just a few on the Bride’s side: Mary Jo, Molly, Kelly (the bride), Uncle Carl, Carl Jr, Aunt Paula, Stephanie,  Uncle Tom, Mike (Stephanie’s husband).
The wedding was at a Methodist church in Cranberry. The ceremony only lasted a half hour. I am Catholic and our weddings seem to last longer. However, I cut the Eucharist out of mine, because Andrew wasn’t Catholic (That only makes it longer). I didn’t want anything separating us from each other that day, but I guess that if your wedding is long, or short the meaning lies within the love the couple has for one, another. The Reception immediately followed the Ceremony. The reception was at Twelve Oaks Mansion in Cranberry. We were there once before for Ben and Tricia’s Wedding.

Good News

Drew got accepted into CGS (College of General Studies) today. he applied to become a student, in order to study Elementary Slovakian. He is half Hungarian and half Slovak. He is so excited to learn the language and take a new class again. This works out, because I will be in class on Mondays and Wednesdays as well. However, I start my grad class on Wednesday, when he finishes his language class, but he said he will stay and wait for me so he can drive me home.
I am so proud of my husband and happy for him. I am excited for him to learn Slovak. I won’t know what the heck he is saying. Honestly,  Pitt has been so good to us, and we can’t stop Hailing to Pitt.

Ice Cream & Handmaid’s Tale

So I have not been going to the gym lately. I am having a hard time getting back into it. This morning, I had every intention of trying to go to barre class after work today, but it just didn’t happen.

After work, I waited for Anthony to come over and then we went to the Sewickley Confectionery and got ice cream. This place is so cute. It looks like your old fashioned neighborhood ice cream place. They have scoop ice cream, and not soft serve. They also have gelato. I was to get some gelato for Drew on our way home, but for now, we were going to enjoy our ice cream.

When we went outside to sit, the tables were wet from the rain last night, so Anthony wiped his chair down a bit. I didn’t care I just sat down. I got bananas and cream ice cream on a cake cone. Anthony got chocolate cherries? I am not sure. He had him in a waffle cone. We talked about the dates that he was getting ready to go on, and how he just doesn’t seem to care about dating anymore. We all go through phases.

After ice cream, we went back to my house and watched Handmaid’s Tale. This is the second to last episode before the finale. We were screaming at the TV. Girl don”t do that! Girl you are wasting too much time, get going! I am so nervous for the finale. We planned to watch it together next week and get ice cream again!

Spring Schedule Meeting

I spent the entire morning making sure I was prepared and ready for the Spring schedulers meeting in the afternoon. I had a couple things Nancy was going to print out for me, but I feel like I could have always been better prepared. Sometimes they ask me things, that require a computer and Nancy said I didn’t have to bring my lap top, so I didn’t.
At lunch, I took my Louie the 14th biography back and picked up three books Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey & Mansfield Park. I also picked up Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. I am starting with The Handmaid’s Tale. I am obsessed with the show. I want to see if they are going to change anything from the book, or etc. I do want to own a copy of the book eventually to add to my collection eventually.
The meeting was okay, and I felt like it went better than my first scheduling meeting. Now I had a few e-mails to send and some questions that need answered from a few people before I can begin building the schedule. I am hoping to start building it soon. I am ready to get started on it and get it out of the way.
After work, I was tired, but not that tired and worn out, as I thought I would be the storm is approaching I know. When we got home, I made dinner and my mother-in-law stopped by to drop off a bag of frozen chicken wings for us, and some vitamins for Drew. She updated us on Grandma and we talked about Kelly’s wedding on Saturday. Drew and I didn’t realize it was at 4pm. Drew said, “Bub, if we plan this right we can still go to the pool.” I said, “that is awesome.” His mom said, “yea, there isn’t time in between it is not a Catholic wedding.” Drew said, “Oh thank God, it won’t take forever then.” I said, “ours, didn’t take forever. We didn’t have Eucharist, because someone wasn’t Catholic.” We both laughed, but his mom sure didn’t. His mom is an evangelical and they don’t really care for the Catholic faith, and are so much more judgmental. I just laugh. It used to offend me, now I love that I get my digs in and it makes me laugh. After she left, we ate dinner, cleaned up, and watched Smallville until it was bed time.

Belated Father’s Day Gift

That morning, I woke up kind of restless and bored. I watched some more Riverdale, made us breakfast. I put my laundry away and cleaned some more around the house. Drew was feeling restless too. Drew got invited to go watch the World Cup game in the afternoon around 2pm at his friend Tony’s. I laid on the couch and watched  Riverdale until it was time for me to go meet my dad at the movie theater. I drove out to Bridgeville to Phoenix Big. Last time I was there was with Drew to see Avengers: Infinity War. The theater was just cited for mouse droppings.  I don’t mind going there. Mice won’t keep me away. I bought my dad Snocaps at the dollar store and I bought Sour Patch kids extreme for me.
Once I arrived at the theater, he was parked out front and I parked across from him. I gave him a hug and wished him a happy father’s day! He said, thank you! come here look what I got for you and Drew.” I go to the back of the car. he lifts up the trunk and pulls out a huge box, 75.00 worth of fireworks. I think the sunglasses were able to hide the shock on my face. He said, “don’t tell your mom.” I said, “oh wow. um, Daddy thank you, but I am not sure where we are going to be able to set these off at.” He said, “Oh you will find someplace, here open your car.” He put the fireworks in the backseat of my car. I texted Drew and told him about the fireworks. He said the same thing I did pretty much, thanks, but where are we going to set these off at?
Once inside the theater, I kept thinking oh my God I have 75.00 of fireworks in my backseat. I bought us popcorn and a drink. He was grateful. We walked to the theater room and took a seat. The theater was pretty much empty. The movie was okay. It was called hereditary. There were parts that made me jump and gruesome special effects, but it was just weird. There was so much hype calling it this generations “Exorcist,” etc. I didn’t think that was true. I noticed sometimes Daddy would close his eyes and fall asleep a little, but then wake right back up again. He is slowing down a little bit. My mom is too, but we will always have horror movies and are going to continue making as many memories as we can.
After the movie, I hugged my dad goodbye and drove home. Once I arrived home, Drew wasn’t feeling too well, but he was happy to see me. He said he had a headache. I told him I had one too earlier. I took some Motrin, I had a headache coming on.  I made dinner for us, and then we watched Smallville until it was time for bed. Another week was coming up fast.

Hair Appt/Deadpool 2

Hair Appt/Deadpool 2

This morning, I got up around 7:15am and got a shower. I got dressed and went downstairs. I made some coffee and ate some cereal. My mom got up and had some coffee with me. My dad was already downstairs in the living room sitting in his chair with the dogs. Things were already back to normal. I missed my husband. I am glad I get to see him today.

When I arrived at the salon, Kim was there and she was the only one there. It is always nice when she is the only one there and not the other ladies. I can’t stand the drama that this place produces. I told Kim I wanted to do the same thing with my hair, darker at the roots and light at the ends. I love the dark rooty look. When she put my color on, she asked all about the trip to Europe, and what it was like. We talked about the protesters and all that is happening in Pittsburgh. She kind of feels the same way I do.
After she dried my hair and styled it, I was out the door. I drove home. When I walked in, I had another cup of coffee and then started packing up my stuff. It was going to rain soon, and I wanted to get the car packed up before the rain hit, but that was going to happen.
My dad helped me load up my car, in between breaks in the rain. I could already feel it was going to be an off day. Drew was going to the chiropractor and was home by the time I walked in the door. When I walked into our house, he had just finished vacuuming and mostly everything was in its place. I was so glad to be home. Drew gave me the biggest hug and kiss. He missed me so much. It was nice to kind of step back and miss each other for a bit. It reminded me of when were dating, only seeing each other on the weekends.
After we brought my stuff inside, I made us avocado egg wraps with bacon. It is my new specialty. The weather was too terrible to go to the pool, so we just did housework and cleaned all day.
After breakfast, I went to Old Navy for the $1 flip flop sale.  I ended up leaving my phone in the car by accident (I swear). They were having a huge summer sale. I did buy 6 pairs of flip flops, 2 pair of comfy beach pants (one pair is green and the other is a blue and white stripe), a top, and a pair of PJ pants. I know I was only supposed to buy flip flops, but I hope this was okay.
When I got home, he was getting ready to go to the store. I told him how much I spent at Old Navy and he was okay with it, but that was it for a while. I understood. I only spent $68.00. I asked if he wanted me to go to the store with him. He said if I wanted to, but I didn’t have to. I put my old navy bag in the house and then got in the car with him. I hadn’t seen him in a while, and was looking forward to getting out, even if it was to the store. I didn’t want to be inside all day.
After the grocery store, we went home and unloaded the groceries and then we went to the mall. He wanted to stop in at LensCrafters to inquire about glasses. He wants a new pair of Sunglasses and eliminates his Ray Bans. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. I am so used to his Raybans. He tried on Oakley’s and Raybans. He wants something different, but I only like a few of them. I am a sucker for the classic black frame and black lens sunglasses look. Something simple and chic is what I like.
After lens crafters, we went to the Cadillac Ranch for a drink. He dropped me off at the front. I took a seat at the bar. I was going to sit outside, but I opted for inside instead. The bartender approached me and smiled. I smiled back, just trying to be friendly. I said, “Don’t worry I am not going to drink by myself.” he said, “I am not judging” and laughed a little.  I said, “Mama said, you never sit at a bar by yourself and drink.” He laughed again and asked me what he can get me? I smiled and said, “Vodka tonic, please.” he said, “what kind of vodka.” I said, “Anything but Smirnoff.” He laughed. I said, “Smirnoff and sunny D have terrible memories for me.” He laughed and so did another bartender, and she said, “Girl it was anything peach for me. I can’t drink anything peach to this day.” I laughed. He looked at me and said, “Goose? Stoli?” I said, “Goose, please.” He set the drink on the counter and I said, “Thank you, Sir.” He smiled and said, “Don’t call me Sir. You can call me Zach.” I smiled and said, “Thanks, Zach.”
Finally, Drew walked in and took a seat next to me. I said, “Hey babe, meet Zach our bartender.” He looked up at Zach and said, “Hey man.” He said, “Hey, what can I get you?” Drew said, “Crown on the rocks please.” There we were drinking together at a bar. Something we hadn’t done in so long. We told Zach we were going to see Dead Pool 2. He said, “You will love it. It is better than the first.” We were pretty excited to see it.
After our drink, we cashed out, said bye to Zach, and headed to the movie theater. It wasn’t all that packed. We have been prebuying our tickets lately with the reserved seating, so after we got our popcorn and drink, we walked up to the usher stand and he scanned our tickets.
On our way to the theater room, I passed the Halloween movie poster. I was so excited for that movie to come out. I wanted to take a selfie with the poster, perhaps on the way out, when we leave. We walked into the theater room, and found our seats and got settled.
After the movie started, a random strange couple took a seat next to us, but they turned out to be in the wrong seat. Theresa my friend, who works at Cinemark told them they were in the wrong seat and had to move. Their seats were in the very front row in, in row A, not row D. When the couple left, another couple took their seats next to us. The movie was alright, sure it had its funny parts, but I liked the first one better. The best is the opening credits. They aren’t your traditional opening credits. Typically opening  credits read “Executive Producer:: then the persona’s name.” Well in Dead Pool 2 they read, “Executive Producer: Who the hell cares?” etc.
