Dog Sitting

This morning, I said goodbye to Drew and drove to the park n ride by my parents, parked, locked my car, and walked to the bus stop. I waited for a G2 to come along. Once I got on the bus, it was so packed, standing room only. I stood and held on to a pole on the way to Downtown Pittsburgh. It was a short ride.
Once I got off the bus, I walked to the bus stop in Downtown to catch a 61 or a 71 to Oakland. I almost forgot how fun it is to ride the bus. I was able to catch a 61, which will take me straight to Posvar pretty much on Forbes. I stopped at Starbucks, once I arrived into Oakland. I got a venti skinny caramel macchiato. I haven’t had one in a while.
Then I walked to my building, I called to my mom on my way to my building. They said, the were taking it easy until their show at 6pm today. They are going to see a Beach Boys show. Ehh, I am not one for shows, unless it is Phantom of the Opera. I would like to see the Gloria Estefan show, “On Your Feet.” I prefer ballets. I like the classics.
Once I got to my office, I sat down and started to do some tasks, and kept an eye on e-mail requests. It was going to be another slow day. I updated enrollments, and prepped for the schedulers meeting. I still have some more to do, but I don’t want to do it all at once.
At lunch, I talked to Wynn and Nicollete. I told them about the dog sitter drama and what happened, and how we had to fire her. Wynn said, “Let me guess who is going to take care of him. The only one, who will take the absolute best care of them…” she laughed. I said, “yes, I am the only one.” I laughed too. I am a control freak. It’s okay with me.
At around 4:15pm, a work study  came down to cover the front desk. I reminded her to please pull the big door with the code on it shut at the end of the day, when she leaves. Everything else was good. She laughed and couldn’t remember if that one got locked, or not. I was grateful to leave at 4:30pm today.
Once I got on the bus out of Oakland, it didn’t take too long to get into town, but it was packed up and raining off and on. It was so humid out too. I was excited to get home to my dogs. When I arrived down town, I walked to the bus stop and waited for a G2 to arrive. It took forever, which is rare for a G2. Traffic out of town must be backed up so badly.
The bus arrived around 5:30pm. I got on and it was so packed. I sat down on one of the side seats, across from someone. I listened to music and texted Drew on the way home. It took awhile to get up to the bridge. I hate when the bus is packed and traffic is backed up. It always happens, when it rains or snows. Once we were on the bus way, the bus flew. Before I knew it, we arrived at my stop. I walked to my car and drove to my parents. I was so excited to see the dogs.
When I got to my parents, I parked, got out of the car, and walked up the walkway to the back door. I unlocked the door, and expected the dogs to be right there at the door going crazy. They must have been sleeping. They were a bit delayed with their greeting. They looked sluggish, but excited! They ran to me, and came outside on the back porch with me. I bent down and pet them. I told them I was sorry, and that i am here with them now. We ran in the grass, and even though it was wet. They ran to me, and I bent down and pet them some more. I wasn’t sure if they had to go to the bathroom or not. They didn’t seem like they needed to, and the grass was too wet for them.  I would try again later.
When we got back inside, I got their dinner ready. I set it down in front of them and waited until they were finished. Louie at everything, as always. Paris not so much she didn’t finish. I was surprised. I took her bowl and put a plate over it, maybe Alyssa will get her to eat tomorrow. I put their food away and set up my Amazon Fire Stick in the living room television. It took me awhile to figure it out. My parents have a Samsung TV, and the HDMI inputs are on a separate box, that comes with the television. They are not behind the television.
After a while, I laid down on the floor and looked at the home screen of the Amazon Fire Stick and smiled in my glory of not needing a man and doing it myself, just then Louie came over and licked me. I always need my Louie boy! I entered the WIFI password for my parents, and then that was it, there it was. I was able to watch the handmaid’s tale. I was so excited.
I went into the kitchen and made some waffles for dinner and grabbed a glass of milk. I guess this was my only option. I ate dinner on a television tray in the living room and started the new episode of the handmaid’s tale. I paused it to clean up and grab a beer. Then I came back in the living room, laid on the couch with my dogs, drank a Corona Light and watched the rest of the episode. Some parts of the show were so sad, but the show is so good.
After the show, I got up and let the dogs out. Louie went, but Paris did not. I went upstairs and got a shower, changed into comfortable sleeping clothes, and turned on Teen Mom 2. I have to catch up. This show is the same anymore, but I hope Leah and Jeremy get back together. I only care about certain story lines; Leah’s, Jenelle’s , and Kail’s, that’s it. Chelsea is cute, but her life is normal and I don’t watch this show for normalcy. After Teen Mom, I couldn’t find anything to watch and it was 9:30pm, time for bed. I couldn’t wait to snuggle the pups.
