This afternoon I went to Andrew’s cousin’s bridal shower. She is getting married at the end of April. Last weekend, I went to Stephanie’s baby shower, who is Ashley’s sister. I love these girls. I am closer to Stephanie, but I am sick of showers!
The shower was beautiful. It was at the Marriott by the airport. A server passed around champagne, that had blueberries in the glass. It was so classy! I sat with my mother-in-law and Andrew’s cousin Kelly. I haven’t seen her since her wedding.
At one point, my mother-in-law got a text from Tommy, Andrew’s brother and said, that Waffles ran away and is lost. She said, their roommate took the dogs down to the beach and Waffles got spooked and he ran away. They were not on leashes. I felt so terrible. Waffles is only 9 months old. We just met him on Christmas. He is so sweet. I hope they find him. I could tell Pam was worried sick throughout the shower.
After Ashley, opened her gifts, Drew came to pick me up. He walked into the room where the shower was going on and he ate some cake and talked to his mom for a bit. We talked about Waffles. Drew and I also talked to his Uncle. We have mentioned a few times about buying their house. They are looking to move and are going to put their house on the market soon. We love their house. It is a great neighborhood, school district, and it is a house we could grow into. We are going to meet up with them for dinner soon and talk about it.
Once we got home, we waited for updates about Waffles. His mom called us around 9:30pm and said they saw Waffles, he was walking along a frozen lake. He was snow blind and disoriented. The coast guard, police, and fire department tried to help, but he wouldn’t come back to shore. He heard them calling for him, but he just went further out onto the lake into the darkness. It was snowing and the wind was blowing. The coast guard said there is nothing more they could do. Drew and I cried and talked about how we first met Waffles over Christmas.
