Christmas Day

This morning, I could tell Drew was a little better, but not one 100%. We still were going to go to his parents for Christmas. My parents were meeting us over there for dinner. I was excited to spend the day with everyone, but I was worried about Drew. He wasn’t doing so well.

When we arrived to his parents, we hung out and opened gifts with Tommy and Megan.

Tommy and Megan got Drew a nice Eddie Bauer zip up, and they gave me a pink champagne 3-wick candle from Pier 1. I love Pier 1, candles, and pink champagne. They also gave us a $50 gift card to Lowes. We gave them together a gift card to Amazon and I bought Megan a little wine glass ornament with a Santa hat on it.

I finally got to meet Waffles. I was glad to finally meet him. He has the sweetest little personality. He just comes right up to you and kisses you and pounces on you.

Butters on the other hand, just wants you to throw him the ball. He is not about kisses and cuddles. Tommy and Megan said he is the athlete.

After gifts,  Drew and I went to get Aunt Toostie. We took his mom’s car. Chippewa is a bit of drive from his parents, but we made it. Aunt Tootsie was so glad to see us. She filled us in on what has been going on with her.
When we arrived back to my in-laws my parents arrived shortly after. I was glad to see them. I love it when we are all together. I just wish Drew felt better. Dinner was a huge spread. Drew seemed to have an appetite. I was glad of that.
After dinner, we hung out for a while, we decided not to go see Grandma. We would see her sometime during the week. We didn’t want her getting sick and getting what Drew had.

Christmas Day

In the morning, we woke up we opened gifts with each other, and then got ready to go to his parents’. We already knew each other’s gifts. I received a FitBit Alta from Drew. I gave Drew wireless headphones that are like mine, but they are black. We relaxed, until it was time to get Grandma. We had to pick Grandma up at 12pm, then go to Oakdale to his parent’s new house.
After we got there, my parents showed up, and it was so nice to have my parents there. We were finally all together on a holiday! Megan and I drank wine together all day. It was nice and relaxing. My mom helped clean up with Aunt Tootsie in the kitchen. I was glad everyone was there. It makes things so much easier, on Drew and I without having to travel back and forth on Christmas. We left around 8pm and took Grandma home. It is hard to get her in and out of the car. Once we got home, we relaxed for the rest of the evening. Another Christmas in the books.

Tommy and Megan’s Wedding

Today, I had a nail appointment at 10:30am. I went to Dunkin and grabbed Donuts and coffee for Leanne and I. She did my nails and my toes. I love hanging out with her, but my nails and toes took 2 hours!

After my nail appointment,  I stopped home for a bit, my mom made me a sandwich, and then I went home. I got dressed and Andrew’s parents picked me up, and took me to the hotel to see Tommy and Drew; his dad was going to get ready with the guys as well. Once we got to the hotel, the Pitt game was on and Drew was getting dressed in his tux. He looked so good. He put his hands on my hips as I pinned on his corsage, he said, “I know a bubsy that is going to be having my baby tonight.” I just laughed. He does look so damn good in a suit.

After they got ready, his mom and I went down to see Megan. Megan was getting her make up done, when we walked in, and Butters was there. I was so glad to see him. He gave me kisses and let me hold him. I took Butters to see Tommy. They hadn’t seen each other since Wednesday.

When I was on my way to take Butters outside, the florist was at the bottom of the elevator. He asked if I could take them up to the bride and groom. I said, Yes I can do that. I took the flowers back up to the room and told Butters that we would go out after I delivered these. He couldn’t wait the poor thing, just peed in the hallway of the hotel. I felt bad for him.

Eventually we made it to the first look, and the Bridesmaid that made a big deal about not getting to make a speech, was walking butters to the fountain and he slipped out of his collar. I went to help her and she was like “We got it, We are good.” I was like yeah okay, you almost just lost the fucking dog. She was a fat miserable bitch. Fat women are typically miserable bitches, because they are miserable with themselves. I just kept being nice to her and killing her with kindness.

After the first look, we went to E2 where the ceremony was going to be held. I stood next Drew and we all gathered around in this horrible hot basement of E2 and the ceremony was so laid back. Drew and I both did the readings. I was first and he was second. He read a little reading on “Union.” Butters stole the show.

After the ceremony, we did the toasts, and finally got to eat. We had so much pasta and it was all served family style. I was able to sit across from Drew. Afterwards, we got our caricature drawn, and there was no dancing except the Bride and Groom’s first dance, as well as Father/Daughter, and Mother/Son dance.

After the reception, we went back to the hotel for bit, then it was time for Drew and I to go. We were so tired.

Keep Calm & Hail To Pitt

Today, I had my staffing interview with the University of Pittsburgh. I was going to meet Drew’s coworkers today, before going to my interview. I was so excited. I have heard so much about them. I left the house around 11:00am and started on my way to Oakland, and it was an adventure! I had to park a little far away in what is called Panther Hollow. I have never driven to Pitt before by myself. The last time I was there was back in 2009 when I wanted to go to school there, and they wouldn’t accept me because I had “C’s” on my transcript. I guess it was a blessing in disguise really, the campus just seemed so intense and overwhelming. I don’t think it was something I was ready for at the time.

When I finally got to the Cathedral and walked inside the main floor, it looked like, a chapel from Victorian times and it was rather breathtakingly interesting. If I was a student that is where I would probably spend most of my time on my computer writing and blogging. I took the elevator up to the 7th floor, and put on my black high heels. I was so excited to see Drew. I met the admin, and told her who I was and that I was here to see Drew Hornyak. She let me go sit at his desk in his cube. I wanted to surprise him. Some people saw me in Drew’s chair and realized I wasn’t Drew. They introduced themselves to me. I was glad to meet them and they all seemed so friendly.

When Drew finally got out of the meeting, he came around the corner and saw me in his chair. He laughed. I said, “Hello Husband.” I got up and kissed him. He was happy to see me. He introduced me to everyone at work, and they all seemed so nice. I am so happy for him. I even got to meet his boss Bill, who said nothing but nice things about my Husband. I knew that he would. He is such a great man, and a hard worker.

After I met his coworkers, we went to Quiznos for lunch, and Drew asked me if I wanted to leave Butters there again for another night? I asked him why? If it was because he was so high-strung? Or if it was because he wanted more time with me? He said “well I want more time with you. I want another dog free night!” I would love another dog free night actually, but I was concerned that there wouldn’t be enough food for him there, so I was going to have to drop some food off to him.

When it came time for my interview, Drew walked me to Craig Hall, and then he had to go back to work. He wished me luck, and kissed me goodbye. I had such a nice day with him, and I was sad to see him leave. It felt like old times again. Like we were on a date. I felt honored to be his wife, and so damn lucky.

The interview with the staffing woman from Pitt went really well. She told me how it works there and asked me about my previous work history, something that I just love talking about, but I try to do with grace and tact.  She told me that right they don’t have anything open, but will be in touch with me towards the end of summer. I said, that is perfect, and I look forward to hearing from her. She had to me do a typing test, which I aced. However, the Microsoft Word test I am not sure I did too well on that, but I think I knew most of them, but I am not sure I don’t feel as confident about that test as I do the typing test. I couldn’t wait to hear from then
