Date Night the Nutcracker Ballet

This morning, I had hair appt then we were going to see the Nutcracker. I was so excited to go. I love the Nutcracker ballet. When I was younger, my mom took me to see it a couple times. She never really was into the ballet, but I thought it was so magical. When I was younger, I took dance classes. I always took ballet. I tried tap, jazz, and gymnastics, but ballet was my thing. When Drew and I were dating, we went to see the Nutcracker with our moms, but this was the second time seeing it together, but first time by ourselves as a married couple.

The evening started out at dinner at Ten Penny. Drew made reservations and everything. I was so happy. We had a both chose the steak and I had a couple glasses of wine. We talked about how things are slowing down, and we were ready for winter break. We talked about school and our accomplishments and what we want to accomplish in the future it was nice. I couldn’t wait for the ballet.
After dinner, we walked to the Benedum hand-in-hand. It felt like old times, like we were dating again. It was nice. Once inside the Benedum, we got our tickets at will call and then made our way to the wine. In order to take your wine, or your alcoholic drink of choice in to the theater you have to buy a Cultural trust cup that comes with a lid and a straw. You have to keep the lid on and the straw in the cup in order to enjoy your drink during the performance.

After we got our drinks, Drew bought some sugar-coated almonds and he also bought me a Christmas ornament, ballet slippers. I was so happy. We made our way downstairs to use the restroom before the performance.  A sugarplum fairy along with a photographer was placed cattycorner from where the restrooms are located. You could get your picture taken with her. Drew paid for me to get my picture with the sugarplum fairy. I was surprised. He is so thoughtful.
After my picture with the Sugarplum fairy, we made our way to our seats in the theater. We had pretty decent seats, orchestra center. The ballet began and it was magical. I was so glad he was there with me. So many times, have I been to the ballet and have seen women with their significant others, and I wondered what that would be like, having your significant other actually want to be there with you and I have to admit it was a good feeling. I am a lucky and blessed woman.

Friday: Paris and Louie

I did not sleep at all last night. I feel like I was awake for most of the night. I slept in my parents room with the dogs. Paris slept up by my chest in a ball, and Louie slept by my stomach on his side. I love how they snuggle.

My alarm went off at 5:00am. I got up turned off the alarm, and took them outside to do their business. Then brought them back inside, locked the door. We went back to bed until 5:30am, then I got up and got a shower, dressed, and fed them breakfast. I took them out one more time before I left the house.

When I arrived to the bus stop, it was almost 6:30am. I was going to be so early, but I never know with them. I don’t know how long things will take, or if they will cooperate, but they did this morning. When I arrived in Oakland it was almost 7:15am. I stopped at dunkin and got a coffee. I was so early.

When I arrived at my department, I opened up the place and put my lunch in the fridge. Then I sat down and browsed on Facebook, while I drank my coffee. Too early to start working. I started working around 8:00am. I got a lot done so far, and the day is still new. I feel bad I had to leave the dogs this morning. Louie watched me leave and gave me this look like I was the biggest asshole in the world. I am hoping to leave at 3:30pm today we will see. Drew is coming over after this evening to my parents to spend the evening with me and the dogs.

At the end of the day, I was able to leave work at 3:15pm. I was excited to be able to bug out a little earlier. When I got home, I took the dogs outside and they were so happy to have someone home! Then I took them upstairs and I got a shower and then tried to take a little nap, before Drew arrived. I slept for about 10 mins, and then got up. I wanted to get the dogs fed, before Drew came home, and before we went to the Hop House for dinner.

When Drew  arrived home, I was somewhat irritable. This period has to come soon. I am getting so anxious. I apologized for being so irritable. I am having all the symptoms it’s just no period.  What the hell! I can’t be pregnant. I don’t want to be pregnant right now. We got ready to leave the house.

When we arrived at the Hop House, there were a few people at the bar, and at the tables. Most people were outside. We thought about sitting outside, but for some reason I thought it was kind of chilly. We took a seat the bar. We ordered our drinks. I was in the mood for a magic hat #9.  I was ready to get the weekend started. It has been a pretty easy week for the most part, but I do love my weekends.

Dinner was yummy. We split a soft pretzel for an appetizer, and for dinner I had a chicken salad for dinner and Drew had a steak hoagie. This restaurant is our favorite little hole in the wall. We come here, only when we dog sit.

After we left, we went home and took the dogs for a little walk around the block, they did their business. Then we got them settled for the night. We watched Jersey Shore Family Vacation, then I went up to bed and the dogs followed. Drew stayed up for awhile, and watched television. I was so tired. Tomorrow is another busy day!

Nails & Date Night

This morning, I got up and had some coffee. I know I had to work on this paper, but I needed coffee first. After I got caffeinated, I went and got a shower, and then attempted to write my paper. I have only a paragraph. Drew went to the chiropractor, then he was going to get ready to go to the pinball tournament with his friends.
Around 12:30pm, I left to go get my nails done. Leanne texted me and asked me if I could come earlier, so I drove to Starbucks. I needed espresso. I can’t do without it anymore.
When I arrived to the salon, I said hi to everyone and took a seat in Leanne’s chair. My nails were lifting all over the place. I couldn’t wait to get them done. I had her round them some and when she finished they looked amazing! I chose light pink, instead of a design. I had one last week. My nails took an hour. Her mom told me that she got new bulbs in 2 of her beds. She told me to hop in and try them out. I was apprehensive. She said, 10 mins. I was excited actually, but I was nervous.
When I got in the tanning bed, it felt like old times. I was so ready to feel the warmth! I laid down and pulled down the lid. I thought I would forget how to do this, but not so much. I did take a nap. I feel asleep, and when the bed shut off, I woke up. I got out, got dressed, and then cleaned the bed. I painted my toes to match my nails, let them dry under the dryer, and then stopped at my parents.
When I arrived at my parents, I picked up the things they bought for me; pepper spray, and an eyebrow liner pencil. It is called miracle brow. It is universal and blends to any color eye brow you are! I love it. It has easily replaced my Chanel eyebrow liner. My mom and I are baffled how it works.
When I arrived home, Drew was home he gave me a hug and a kiss. His pinball tournament got cancelled, so he said they were going to go to the movies, but he wanted to spend the evening with me. I was glad. He went to the gym, while I was out and about. He got a shower, and I got changed for dinner. We were going to the same Mexican restaurant that we went to for Mike’s birthday, plaza Azteca.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we got seated right away in a cute little booth.  We ordered Corona Lights and Guacamole to start off. Then I ordered two mushroom quesadillas. Drew had the burrito deluxe. It was a nice date.

Pedicures & Thanksgiving Break

At work today, I got out at 3:00pm. I couldn’t wait to leave. I quickly locked everything up and said, Happy Thanksgiving to Linda, then I went down to the escalator. I found Nicollette there waiting for me. She and I jumped up and down and hugged. We walked to the Nail salon in Oakland, where we both had appointments. We were going to get pedicures together and start our Thanksgiving break off right. Our pedicures didn’t last long, but they were relaxing.

When I got home, Drew and I went to dinner at Yai Fei, and then to Kirklands to look at Christmas decorations. We bought an ornament for our tree. It is a reindeer with an “H” on his belly. After Kirklands we went home and made the cheese and cracker tray to take to his parents tomorrow. We made it in the shape of a turkey. I am so excited for thanksgiving.
Thursday, we picked up Aunt Tootsie and then drove to his parents. When we got to his parents, my parents were already there. My mother-in-law arrived shortly after, she had to help transport grandma. I had so much to be thankful for, my family was there all together. It was so nice. Dinner was yummy. We have so much left over. We will be eating Thanksgiving all week long and perhaps longer.
After we left his parents, we went to visit Grandma, she seemed to be doing well. She just had the heart cath put in for the valve that will get replaced next month. She will be joining us for Christmas, but wasn’t able to come to Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma was so happy to see us. She looked pretty good. After we visited with Grandma, we went home and relaxed for the rest of evening. I was so tired.
Black Friday, we were slow to get ready. We went to the gym for a bit. It wasn’t all that packed. Then we went to the liquor store and picked up some Kahlua for when we decorate the tree later. I like to have Kahlua and cream while we decorate the tree. When we got home, we got showered and I changed into something festive. We put Christmas music on and decorated the tree and the house with Christmas decorations. Andrew put his arms around me and said, “Our love is like Christmas pure and beautiful!” I was like, “Awwwe!” He is so sweet when he wants to be. After we decorated, I heated us up some Thanksgiving dinner and then we watched Star Wars the Empire Strikes back. I love Vader.

Sushi Date Night

After we picked up my car in Crafton, we went home and got ready to go to dinner. We wanted to go out to eat, but just weren’t sure were. We decided on sushi. There is this little place in Sewickley, called Slippery Mermaid. We took my mom there last mother’s day, and we have been there once before on a date, and it is so good!
When we got home, I got freshened up and put a dress on and some heels. I wanted to feel like a lady. He changed his clothes as well, and then we were out the door. The wait was about 45-mins, so we stood at the bar in hopes that someone would leave and we could just eat at the bar. It was so nice to get out and go on a date together. I feel like it is been awhile, since we did this.
Right before we went to order our second drink, the hostess called our name and our table was ready! When we were seated, I set my purse on the table and went to the rest room. I came back to the table, and Drew was talking to the couple at the table behind us, and I turned to see who he was talking to and it was a kid I went to grade school with. He was there with his wife, mother-in-law, and baby. I said, Hi to Kevin. It has been a long time since I saw him. I introduced myself to his wife, and said hi to his mother-in-law. His son Carter, who I think is 2. He is adorable. He came right up to me and sat on my lap. I love little kids, but I also like when I can give them back. We all talked for awhile, then when they left we ordered another drink, and some edamame beans to start.
When we placed our sushi order, we decided to split three rolls. Then as we started eating the sushi, we realized we could probably do one more roll. We got another roll and split it. We weren’t disgustingly full, but definitely satisfied, that is the thing about sushi. I feel like if we had one more roll, we would have been disgustingly full.

2 Weddings and a Date Night

Today, I arrived at the chapel at 10:15AM. I was to follow Frank and help him with whatever and shadow him. I stayed for the two weddings. He had so much to keep track of. The one wedding had 15 people on either side. I wondered if I was ever going to get the hang of it, and know what exactly to do. I am so afraid to make a mistake, when I become primary.
After the two weddings, I was able to go home. I was so hungry. When I arrived home, Drew had the house looking so nice, and he was so happy to see me. We decided to get dressed up and go on a date, then we would go to Wal-Mart and get what we needed to make Father’s Day dinner happen.

We decided to go to dinner at Longhorn. We had some gift cards to use, and we still needed to use them. When we arrived, we were able to get seated right away. I felt like we were an old couple going to dinner early at like 5pm. It was funny. I had a little steak, potato with everything on it, and a salad. Drew had a steak, fries, and salad. During dinner, we chatted about my work schedule, and how proud he is of me sticking out and doing what I have to do. Its so hard working on weekends, but it is what it is. I miss my time with Drew and the pool!

After dinner, we went to the mall and got my dad his gift, and then we went to wal-mart and picked up the rest of the food we needed, and then it was home to relax.
