Heading Home

After CMU today, I went back to my parents and got packed up. I laid on my old bed with my dogs for a minute. I was so tired. I feel asleep for a second and got some last minute cuddles in before I said goodbye to my mom and left for Leanne’s.

When I arrived at Leanne’s, she was in Maci’s room, they were watching Fuller House. I hung out with them until Patrice came over with her two kids, then we left the bedroom, so Maci could play with her friends.

Leanne, Patrice, and I all hung out in the living room and chatted. Dan, Leanne’s husband came home from work, and joined in our conversation. It was good to spend time with them. I ate dinner with Dan, Leanne, and Maci then went home. I was anxious to come home to my husband.

When I arrived home, the house was empty. He was still at the gym, so I got changed and sat outside on the back porch.  I could really feel the seasonal change. The wind is picking up and fall is on the way. I love this time of year, but it is a little creepy how quickly it seems to be happening over night it is going to drop and Friday will be in the 60s! I love fall.

Pumpkin Picking 2018

Today, Andrew and I took a long weekend to celebrate my Birthday and our 3 year wedding anniversary. We started the day with breakfast at Central Diner. We both had the Italian Omlet. I treated myself to some Italian bread toast. I was celebrating.

After breakfast, we went to pick pumpkins at Soergel’s orchard. I take pumpkin picking very seriously.

We didn’t want to drag the wheel barrow all the way up the hill to the patch, so we just picked our pumpkins out of the huge crates they had outside. We actually found some nice size pumpkins.

After we got our pumpkins, we loaded them up in the back of my SUV, then we wandered around Soergel’s and walked in and out fo a couple stores. We had so much fun! We bought a few things; a hazelnut candle, a small container apple cider, sampler bags of coffee, and 2 bottles of wine.

After Soergel’s we went to Kirkland’s and they had their Fall stuff for 50% off. We did buy the giant ornament with an H on it. Andrew’s mom bought hers last year and I wanted one for us too. We also bought my mom a birthday gift, and we got a couple candles.

After Kirkland’s we went to Best Buy and got a case for my IPad. I can finally use it now. I am anal about my electronics and try to take good care of them.

After Best Buy, we went home and made some dinner. It was so nice to spend the day together wandering around and getting our pumpkins. We did some things around the house and had an awesome salmon dinner with some asparagus.

After dinner, we watched some AMC fear fest they were showing the Halloween movies. We were going to see the new one and I was so excited. We planned to leave at 9:00pm for the movies.

Pitt Preseason Game

This morning, we had a chiropractor appointment, then we ate breakfast at Kings. After breakfast, we went to Walmart, then he dropped me off at home and went to to the grocery store. We are making burgers and dogs tonight.

While he was at the grocery store, I started bring up some fall decorations from the garage. I am trying to bring. It out little by little (pictures to follow).

When Drew got home, I helped him put groceries away, and sorted through my homework. I need to do some reading by next Monday. Maybe I will do some tomorrow.

Now we are watching the Pitt game. We look good. Even though it is only the first game! That’s a Pitt panther touch down! Roar!

I think I am going to start the macaroni salad. I hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

Halloween Party

This morning, I woke up and got ready to go to Crafton. I had a nail appointment at Bella’s Nails in Noblestown. I was meeting my mom at my parents’ house then we would drive to the Nail salon together. She was getting her nails done too.

When I arrived into Crafton, I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got my mom two pumpkin coffees and my dad a chocolate donut. When I got to my parents, my dad was so happy and surprised with his donut. I said hi to my dogs, and then we were on our way to the nail salon.

When we arrived, I sat in Anna’s chair, and my mom sat next to me. Anna was going to do my nails first, then my mom’s. While I was soaking my feet for my pedicure, she was going to finish up my mom. It took a little over 2 hours to be completely done. My mom and I tried the SNS dip powder nails. It is this powder that they dip your nails in, and it supposedly it has nutrients in it, and makes your nails grow. I wasn’t sure about that, but I am excited to see how long it lasts. I love having my nails and toes done. It has been so long since my last pedicure. My nails and toes are a dark purple, almost like a plum. Fall means dark colors!

After our nail appointment, my nail trip costs me $90.00, not including a tip. I know this is a special occasion. My mom and I met my dad at Hanlon’s in the shopping center and we had breakfast. Then it was back to my parents. I wanted to try on the white tights that I had for my costume tonight. I  knew my mom would give me her honest opinion on whether or not they fit properly. Thankfully, when I tried them on they fit. I was ready for tonight. I couldn’t wait.

When I got back to Moon, Drew just got home. He asked how my nail appointment went and if I had fun? I told him it was so relaxing. I showed him my nails and my toes I think he liked them. I threw some laundry in and hung out, until it was time get ready. I was feeling semi nauseous. I was hoping I would be in tip top shape for tonight.

When it was time to get ready, I took my time and did my make up. I did my stitches on my face and on my neck, like Sally has them in the movie. I was being Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas. Drew was being Jack. The two main characters in the movie. Once we we were ready, we left the house and went to Giant Eagle to pick up my cupcake cake. Drew had it made in a particular shape. He wanted to surprise me with it.  I couldn’t wait to see it.  Once we picked up the cake, it was decorated in the shape of a pumpkin. It was orange with black writing. I loved it! We also picked up an energy drink, and gum.

My parents were next to arrive, my dad had the best costume! He was a pirate. My mom was dressed as a witch. I am so glad they  dressed up. My in-laws did not dress up.

Once they arrived, we ordered food. I had a grilled cheese and fries. Andrew had a burger and fries, so did my dad. My mom had a gyro. I think my father-in-law just had wings and spinach dip.
After dinner, Anthony and Dylan showed up. Dylan brought me a card, and inside the card was a $25 Starbucks gift card. My in-laws, got me two cards. One funny one, and one cute one. In side, the funny card was a $15 dollar Starbucks gift card. I felt so blessed. I knew where I was stopping on Monday! The bar sang Happy Birthday to me, and then I blew out my candles.
When it was time to leave, Drew and I were so tired. I was ready for bed. We got home around 10pm.

Anthony and Dylan came by our house for a bit, but they didn’t get a chance to eat, since they showed up so late. I was about to wait for them to eat at the restaurant. I was so tired. Anthony was in a mood too.  When they finally left, Andrew and I got ready and went to bed. I had a feeling I was going to be so lazy tomorrow.

Date Night

Finally, Friday arrived, and it was much cooler outside. Autumn is vastly approaching.  I am excited for fall leaves, cooler weather, haunted house, pumpkins, etc. I didn’t think it was going to be this cool outside, so I didn’t bother to wear a jacket, but I had long sleeves. It was the Friday before Labor Day weekend, which meant a long weekend!

At lunch, I went to the Hillman library to pick up a book I had ordered it, it’s titled Tulip Fever. The movie is coming out today, but until there is a stream up on our Firestick, I will read the book.  After I left the Hillman, I went to the Carnegie Library with Nicollete. My stomach was off ever since I had a macchiato this morning, so I just sat with her in the library while she had coffee. When she left to go back to the office, I browsed the books a bit. I asked if I could be put on the list for the Outlander series books 3 and 4 Voyager & Drums of Autumn. I read them before, but then I got away from the series, but I want to finish it and try to refresh my memory. The new season is starting on Sunday! I can’t wait!
Unfortunately, we didn’t get out early at all for the Holiday weekend. It was a long day! That evening, Drew and I went to the Industry Pub for dinner. We had a coupon for a free appetizer, so we got the huge soft pretzel. I tried this new beer called Trick or Treat. It was a Vanilla porter beer, so good, but so filling. At dinner, we talked about Grad school, parenting, family planning, no subjects were off the table.
When we left dinner, I was a little buzzed, but when we got home we ran into our neighbor Anita, who bitched about the same things as she always does. It ruined my buzz. Once we finally got into the house, we tried to find a good stream for Annabelle and there wasn’t any. I was so bummed. I wanted to see this so badly. We watched Unforgettable with Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson. It was like Fatal Attraction, but it was a good Thriller. Then it was off to bed.

Jim’s Cookout

This morning, we took our time getting ready. I made buffalo chicken dip again for Jim’s cookout today. After we got ready, we went to Kirklands first in Robinson Town Center. They had so many cute things for Fall. We bought a set of Halloween mugs that say, “Mr. Handsome Devil and Mrs. Wicked Witch.” I loved them. I blame his cousin Melissa for my love of Kirklands. We also saw this orange Pumpkin that had a white H on it. I said, we have to have this. I have been looking for this for our wedding. We have to get married again! We both laughed.

After Kirklands, we went to Bath and Body in the Town Center and looked for some fall soaps. They didn’t really have that big of a selection, so we bought two room refreshers. They are plug-ins both are houses. One is a fall house and  the other is a haunted house. they are so cute. Drew picked them out. He has good taste. We picked a few different scents, then we left.

When we got back home, we brought our purchases in and got ready to go to Jim’s. When we arrived at Jim’s, the party began, but I really wasn’t in the mood to be there. I was so tired from the long week. I just wanted to be home and on the couch.

After dinner, we played whiffel ball. I think we won the game. I am not sure I can’t remember, that was fun. Of course we played cornhole too. I suck at cornhole, but I try. We stayed until 9:30, then it was time to go home and go to bed. We were tired.

One-Year Anniversary Trip to Seven Springs

Today, we had off work. We were going away for our one-year anniversary and my birthday. I was so excited to get a away and spend a much needed vacation away from the jazz seminar and Pittsburgh. We went to the gym and then got packed up. On our way to seven springs, we stopped for breakfast at Eat n Park. It was a great way to kick off our mini vacation.

The entire road trip up to seven springs, the drive was so nice, even though it did rain a bit, but it was still nice. When we arrived, we went up to our room. We were staying in the main lodge area, and it reminded me of the shining. Our room was all the way at the end of the hall. Autumn Fest started tomorrow, so there really wasn’t anyone up there that night, but Andrew and I were determined to make the most of out of it. After we got settled in our rooms, we were the only ones looking to party. We stopped in the gift shop and bought a shot glass and a wine glass,  and then we went to the bistro. We got some drinks, and met some people, who were there for a wedding that was happening that weekend. The same minster who married Tommy and Megan was there to marry this couple. We talked to the brides’ brother and his friends, and the cousin of the bride, which was a kicker for ULSC.

After a few drinks, we went to get changed for dinner. We were going to go to this place called Timbers. It was a burger joint. I had soup and salad. Andrew had a burger, and fries. It was nice to watch everyone coming and going all the families. Over dinner, we talked about my job situation since I was not the top pick during the interviews and I would have to train the new hire during the jazz seminar week, which was vastly approaching. I was looking forward to getting the hell out of the jazz studies office, but at the same time it was back to looking again.

After dinner, we wanted to keep partying so we went back to the bistro and met up with our friends, then to the club called the Matterhorn and danced for a bit, and had a couple drinks, then we decided to turn in for the night. We were so hot throughout the night, because we drank so much.

Pumpkin Patch/Scarehouse with Anthony

Today, we were on our way to the chiro, and there was a line all the way down 79. It was the line for Soergels. I guess it was the start of Pumpkin weekend. The line was so long! We were late to the chiro and my adjustment felt so amazing. Drew was out of the woods with his back, but still couldn’t lift anything super heavy. I was happy to hear that he was better.

After the chiro, we went to Janoski’s farm and picked out our pumpkins. We got 2 big ones, and one small one. I am using the small one, as a part of the dip decoration for Leanne’s Halloween party. I was tired for some reason. We laid down and hung out on the couch, and watched some television and waited for Anthony to get off work. We were going to Scarehouse tonight with him.

Anthony came over around 9:00pm. We left and went to the zoo to park our car since they shuttle you over to the Scarehouse by a school bus. We got on the school bus, and Anthony started singing, “Memories..” We started laughing. I always laugh so hard when I am with Anthony. I was scared a little in the house, but not really. We were with this one couple, and they were walking so fast. We kind of missed everything. At one point, they told us to slow down and they shut the door on our face. I agree we were walking too fast.

At the end, I was ready for something different next year. On the bus back, we decided to go to a Haunted Hayride next year, and do something different. I love this season. It just goes by too fast. We stopped at Caddy Ranch for a drink and Anthony and I got caught up with each other on our lives. Andrew was getting tired I could tell. We didn’t get home until 2am. Once we got home, we went to bed. We were so tired.
