Haunted Mini Golf 2019

This morning, I had a hair appt at 9am. I was so excited for this one. I wanted to go darker. I am ready to get my fall hair. I still wanted to be blonde, but I was going for mostly dark.

When I arrived, Misty got started on my hair. I love my Saturdays with Misty.  She and I got caught on all the latest that is happening in our lives and at the shop.

Before I left, I made my next 6 week appointment which will be 11/16. I can’t believe it, November!

After my hair appt, I went to Walmart, and got some groceries for dinner. I was in the mood to bake, so I picked up a box of spice cake mix and cream cheese icing.

When I got home, I baked the cake, and made some buffalo chicken dip for the game later. Then I made dinner. We were both hungry. I made a keto hamburger casserole. It was so good!

After dinner, I cleaned up the kitchen, iced the cake, and then we got ready to go to the Windmill for Haunted Mini Golf. We do this every year. I looked back on our old pictures. We have been doing this since 2014. When we go, I get my annual Michael Myers picture.

When we got home, we turned on the Pitt game. They were away in North Carolina. Right before the start of the 4th quarter, I went to bed. I was hopeful they would win.

When Drew came to bed, he said, Pitt won! I was so glad turn on those victory lights!

Short Hair Don’t Care

This morning, I had a hair appointment at what I thought was 10am. I woke up and put on my swimsuit and a romper. We were going to go to the pool after my hair appt. When I arrived, Misty was there she was cleaning. I looked at the receptionst and told her that i was here for my 10am with Misty. She said, “your appointment is at 11am.” I said, it is!? She said, “Yea.” Misty came to the front desk and said, “Yea, but you can come on back. I finished my 10am. I was going to call you and say if you want you can come in early.” I said, “I am so sorry, I hate when people do that and here I am doing it.” She said, “Don’t worry about it. come on back.

When I sat in her chair, I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She said, “we can do that. You want to go that short?” I said, “yes, please.” I wanted a change something fresh and new. The next time I see her. I will be going a little darker for the fall. I like to keep my edge up in the fall. I told her I wanted to remain blonde, but not so brassy and bleachy. We decided on ash blonde at the roots and pull some through, but still keep my light blonde look.

When she was finished, I was in love. I felt so much lighter and more relaxed. I figured Drew was going to be mad. He likes my hair longer. It will grow back. He was texting me while my hair was getting done, I was taking a little longer than expected. When I left it was 11:30am.

I pulled up to our house, and he was outside with the pool bag, anxious to get to the pool. When we arrived, I lathered up with suntan oil and put suntan lotion on my face. I got into the shallow end and pulled my hair up in a ponytail. I can’t get my hair wet for at least 24-48 hours. It isn’t as much fun if you can’t get your hair wet and it was a hot one. We stayed until 2:30pm, then I had to get home and finish my assignment for school.

When we got home, my scalp was burned from not being able to get my hair wet and not putting suntan lotion in my hair. I was hesitant about going back to the pool tomorrow. I got a shower and finished my assignment I sent it to Rachel for review. I was anxious to get her feedback on it.

Drew cooked steak kabobs on the grill and we sat outside and had a cigar and a drink. It was a relaxing day and night.

Hair Appt & Errands

This morning I had a 9am hair appt at Michael’s Hair Loft with Misty. This will be my second time getting my hair done by her. She and I bonded so quickly and we laugh so hard when I am in her chair. I decided to do all over highlights and get my eyebrows tinted like last time. I also decided to go tanning. Drew and I thought about going to the pool after my hair appt. I would just lay out in the shallow end. I didn’t want to get my hair wet after just getting my hair done. We decided not to, because it was supposed to rain, but it looked like a good pool day.

When I cashed out at the hair salon it was $196. Ladies, do you pay a lot for highlights? If so, what is the most you have ever paid for hair? I used to  go to a small neighborhood salon, and never paid over $60 bucks for Highlights. I am not complaining, because I work, and I am at the age now where I can pay a little more for my hair if I want to, but my husband was not too happy when I told him the total.

When I got home from the hair salon, I cleaned the house and put things away, ran the vacuum, and just cleaned until Drew got home. When he was on the way home from the gym, he called me and said that he tried to call me, but the call wouldn’t go through. He asked what all I got done at the salon and I told him. I get it he is the budget guy in our marriage. He knows how to manage our money, and he has a plan. He did ask me if I could get my eyebrows done every other time, instead of every 6 weeks. I told him I could do that. I just like how when they are tinted, I don’t even need to fill them in if I don’t want to. I am vain. I know.

When he got home, he complimented my hair and really did like it. He also thanked me for cleaning the house. He asked me if I wanted to get things ready for my interview, so when I get called in to interview for the GSA position, my business suit will be good to go. I tried on my suit. The good news is that the pants need taken in a bit at the waist. I guess I lost some weight since the last time I wore this suit. It will be almost three years since I have interviewed for a position. I am nervous, but I am going to spend the time prepping for the interview, and ask my adviser if we could do a mock interview, or if she has any tips for me. I am hoping I get called in this week, or next. I face-timed my mother-in-law and showed her how i look in the suit and she said that it needs taken in at the waist and suggested we call some places that do alterations.

When we hung up the phone with his mom, I called Diane’s Cleaners in Moon, they no longer do fittings, just alterations. So I would already need to know where it would need taken in at, and have it marked myself. Their seamstress just stops by and picks up the alterations. I then called Macy’s and she said they use an outside vendor and gave me the name of a place called Alterations Express. I called them and they said they do fittings and alterations, as well as same day alterations (up charge). I said relayed the information to Drew. He said, if we don’t do the same day, how long would it take? They said, 4 business days. Drew said lets take it in today, if they can do it today and pay the up charge. He wanted to make sure I was prepared.  I thought it was sweet.

Once we arrived at Alterations Express in Bridgeville, they told me to go into an empty fitting room and put on what I need altered. Then open the door, so they know I am ready. I went into the fitting room, and put on the dress pants and shirt. I tucked it in, so they could get an accurate idea. A girl came in and marked me where I would need taken in, and then told me I could get my normal clothes back on and then I will be good to go. When she left, I changed back into my normal clothes, and walked out of the fitting room. Drew was sitting there waiting for me. I laid my clothes on the counter and we checked out. They said, for us to stop back in 45 mins-1 hour.

So we went to the Bottleshop Cafe to day drink and kill some time. When we walked in, this place is clearly a guy’s place. They had the Liverpool soccer game on, some guys were sitting at the bar wearing Liverpool shirts. There are TVs in every corner. I ordered a White Claw (Alcohol Seltzer water). I have never had it before. I have always had Truly. White Claw is a little better than Truly. The flavors are better and they are no so over powering.

After about an hour at the bar, we went back to check on my dress pants. They were ready to go! We hung them up in the back of the car and we went home. When we got home, I hung my suit pants up in the closet. I am so hopeful this will work out.

New Hair Salon

Yesterday, I was bound and determined to try to find a new hair salon. I did not want to go to the one I normally go to.  I  wanted to try some place different, even if that meant paying a little more.  I called around Friday morning and everyone was booked up for Saturday. I desperately needed my hair done my last call was to Michael’s Hair Loft. They had an opening at 9am, which is what I needed. I booked the appointment with Misty. I was so excited a new salon and a new hair stylist.

This morning, I woke up early and got a shower. I made some coffee and hung out with Drew for a bit, then I left and went to my hair appt. I was so excited. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by Misty. I introduced myself and she took me back to her station. I took my hair out of my ponytail and I had some serious regrowth in the back and probably needed a trim. I explained to her that I usually get all over highlights, but I like the dimensional blonde and not all one blonde. She said that she will pull some pieces and had some dimension to them, but keep me mostly blonde. Then she said, how about the roots. I said, Well I like the rooty look, so when the highlights grow out it doesn’t look too streaky. She said, I totally agree with you. We can do that. Then I asked her if she uses bleach or olipex. She said, I will show you. It is a brand called illusionist they have the color and the toner. I said, awesome. I prefer no bleach. She said, not a problem. We decided on layers and a little trim at the ends.

Honestly, I have been getting my hair done since I was 15. I started with highlights. I longer hair, and the hair dresser at the time pulled my hair through a cap and gave me bleach high lights. Sure I was bleachy blonde, but the high light process hurt when my hair was pulled through a cap. She refused to do foils. I changed salons and went to another salon that did foils, which I have been dedicated to for the most part, but I did stray and go to Ulta (too pricey) and then to the Cutting Edge Salon (Stephen moved to Florida). I know my hair products and proper hair care.

After she applied the foils and the color to my root, I sat under the dryer, which was a high tech heat lamp. We talked about the weekend and Easter. After my color was set, she took me to the sink and she washed my hair, and took the foils out. I was so excited to see what it looked like, but it’s hard to tell when your hair is wet, if you are a blonde. The anticipation was killing me! I couldn’t wait for her to dry it. She trimmed me up and gave me layers. I already felt lighter and so much better.

After she finished trimming my hair, she blew my hair dry and round brushed my hair. I absolutely loved the color! It was gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. I was so happy I almost teared up. She was glad that I loved it. After my hair was styled and dry, I decided to get my eye brows colored. I never had it before, and I hate having to fill in my eyebrows. She took me into her relaxation room and put on some peaceful zen like music and I laid down on the table, and she colored my eyebrows and waxed them. I was so relaxed.

When she was done, she handed me a mirror and I was like I love them! I have eyebrows. She said, “your husband is going to have to take you to dinner tonight.” I said, I know right someone better. 🙂  When it was time to check out, I booked my 6 week appt. I was so happy. I excited for my next appt!

When I got home, I finished my legal paper and submitted it. I am so ready to be done with the semester. When Drew came home from the gym, he said, “I like your hair baby.” I smiled and said, “Thank you.” We talked about the end of the semester and what he wanted to do for dinner since tomorrow is Easter. He said, “We should probably go out.” I asked him where he wanted to go? do we have any gift cards anywhere? He said, “I don’t think we have any left.” I said, “We have that coupon for Plaza Azteca.” He said, “We could go there.” We got ready to head to dinner around 5pm to beat the dinner crowd.

We were seated at a table and I ordered the same thing I always get the Burrito Espinaca. We also had guacamole as well. I love Mexican food. After dinner, we went to the mall, we had to get his mom a birthday card. We also wanted to get her a gift card to Philip Pelusi where she gets her hair done.

Then we stopped into Hot Topic, and they had t-shirts on sale buy 2 get one free. Drew and I bought shirts for the new Avengers movie. I bought a Captain marvel shirt. The 1 free shirt I got was a Britney Spears shirt. It was her album cover from “Oops I did it Again.” I can’t wait to wear it! I was thinking about wearing it for Easter dinner tomorrow, but I probably won’t. 🙂

After the mall, we went home and watched tv, until it was time for bed. Tomorrow is Easter!

Hair Appt/Deadpool 2

This morning, I got up around 7:15am and got a shower. I got dressed and went downstairs. I made some coffee and ate some cereal. My mom got up and had some coffee with me. My dad was already downstairs in the living room sitting in his chair with the dogs. Things were already back to normal. I missed my husband. I am glad I get to see him today.

When I arrived at the salon, Kim was there and she was the only one there. It is always nice when she is the only one there and not the other ladies. I can’t stand the drama that this place produces. I told Kim I wanted to do the same thing with my hair, darker at the roots and light at the ends. I love the dark rooty look. When she put my color on, she asked all about the trip to Europe, and what it was like. We talked about the protesters and all that is happening in Pittsburgh. She kind of feels the same way I do.
After she dried my hair and styled it, I was out the door. I drove home. When I walked in, I had another cup of coffee and then started packing up my stuff. It was going to rain soon, and I wanted to get the car packed up before the rain hit, but that was going to happen.
My dad helped me load up my car, in between breaks in the rain. I could already feel it was going to be an off day. Drew was going to the chiropractor and was home by the time I walked in the door. When I walked into our house, he had just finished vacuuming and mostly everything was in its place. I was so glad to be home. Drew gave me the biggest hug and kiss. He missed me so much. It was nice to kind of step back and miss each other for a bit. It reminded me of when were dating, only seeing each other on the weekends.
After we brought my stuff inside, I made us avocado egg wraps with bacon. It is my new specialty. The weather was too terrible to go to the pool, so we just did housework and cleaned all day.
After breakfast, I went to Old Navy for the $1 flip flop sale.  I ended up leaving my phone in the car by accident (I swear). They were having a huge summer sale. I did buy 6 pairs of flip flops, 2 pair of comfy beach pants (one pair is green and the other is a blue and white stripe), a top, and a pair of PJ pants. I know I was only supposed to buy flip flops, but I hope this was okay.
When I got home, he was getting ready to go to the store. I told him how much I spent at Old Navy and he was okay with it, but that was it for a while. I understood. I only spent $68.00. I asked if he wanted me to go to the store with him. He said if I wanted to, but I didn’t have to. I put my old navy bag in the house and then got in the car with him. I hadn’t seen him in a while, and was looking forward to getting out, even if it was to the store. I didn’t want to be inside all day.
After the grocery store, we went home and unloaded the groceries and then we went to the mall. He wanted to stop in at LensCrafters to inquire about glasses. He wants a new pair of Sunglasses and eliminates his Ray Bans. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. I am so used to his Raybans. He tried on Oakley’s and Raybans. He wants something different, but I only like a few of them. I am a sucker for the classic black frame and black lens sunglasses look. Something simple and chic is what I like.
After lens crafters, we went to the Cadillac Ranch for a drink. He dropped me off at the front. I took a seat at the bar. I was going to sit outside, but I opted for inside instead. The bartender approached me and smiled. I smiled back, just trying to be friendly. I said, “Don’t worry I am not going to drink by myself.” he said, “I am not judging” and laughed a little.  I said, “Mama said, you never sit at a bar by yourself and drink.” He laughed again and asked me what he can get me? I smiled and said, “Vodka tonic, please.” he said, “what kind of vodka.” I said, “Anything but Smirnoff.” He laughed. I said, “Smirnoff and sunny D have terrible memories for me.” He laughed and so did another bartender, and she said, “Girl it was anything peach for me. I can’t drink anything peach to this day.” I laughed. He looked at me and said, “Goose? Stoli?” I said, “Goose, please.” He set the drink on the counter and I said, “Thank you, Sir.” He smiled and said, “Don’t call me Sir. You can call me Zach.” I smiled and said, “Thanks, Zach.”
Finally, Drew walked in and took a seat next to me. I said, “Hey babe, meet Zach our bartender.” He looked up at Zach and said, “Hey man.” He said, “Hey, what can I get you?” Drew said, “Crown on the rocks please.” There we were drinking together at a bar. Something we hadn’t done in so long. We told Zach we were going to see Dead Pool 2. He said, “You will love it. It is better than the first.” We were pretty excited to see it.
After our drink, we cashed out, said bye to Zach, and headed to the movie theater. It wasn’t all that packed. We have been prebuying our tickets lately with the reserved seating, so after we got our popcorn and drink, we walked up to the usher stand and he scanned our tickets.
On our way to the theater room, I passed the Halloween movie poster. I was so excited for that movie to come out. I wanted to take a selfie with the poster, perhaps on the way out, when we leave. We walked into the theater room, and found our seats and got settled.
After the movie started, a random strange couple took a seat next to us, but they turned out to be in the wrong seat. Theresa my friend, who works at Cinemark told them they were in the wrong seat and had to move. Their seats were in the very front row in, in row A, not row D. When the couple left, another couple took their seats next to us. The movie was alright, sure it had its funny parts, but I liked the first one better. The best is the opening credits. They aren’t your traditional opening credits. Typically opening  credits read “Executive Producer:: then the persona’s name.” Well in Dead Pool 2 they read, “Executive Producer: Who the hell cares?” etc.

St. Patrick’s Day

While everyone was out getting wasted, and probably going to the parade in downtown Pittsburgh, I had a busy day of errands. I have never been much for the day drinking, or all day drinking. I got up at 7:45am. I got a shower, dressed, and then left to go to my parents. I wanted to see my dogs. I haven’t seen them in so long.
When I arrived to my parents, I was so happy to see my little puppies. Louie took a second to let me love on him. He hasn’t seen me in a while and was a bit skittish. Paris was ready for hugs and loves. I miss them. I went upstairs and hung out with my mom, after I said, hi to my dad. Paris and I snuggled in bed for bit. She was snuggled up in my arms. I love her. She is so cuddly and she loves the attention.
After a quick cup of coffee, I left to go to the hair salon. I was going to see my parents later at my house anyways. When I arrived at the hair salon, I sat in the chair. We talked about the game plan for my hair. I definitely wanted to be lighter, but I still liked the dimension, so we opted for all over blonde with a few caramel low lights. Overall I am satisfied..
On my way home, I called Drew and he told me that Dave, our handyman was there to fix the water pipe, that leads into the washer. It was all corroded. I drove home, so Drew could leave to go to the ACC tournament game. He was going to go with his friend Ben, who had tickets. I was jealous. Soon after I arrived, Drew left and my parents came over. My parents and Dave sat at my kitchen table and talked about the Catholic parishes that are going to be closing in the neighborhood.
After a while, I said, “Alright well I am hungry, and we have to get going.” I stood up. If I didn’t, Dave would have sat there all day and BSed. He is a little lonely I think. It’s sad, but I have things to do. When we left the house, I told my parents I would drive. I opened the backseat of my car, to put my purse in on the seat, and noticed a small puddle of water in the backseat on the floor. I picked up the bottle of windshield wiper fluid and noticed a small crack in the plastic bottle. I took the bottle and the gray, plastic Walmart bag that it was in and put it on the concrete parking lot, by the bushes. I figured I would deal with that later. I was so damn mad.
Once everyone was in the car, my dad was teasing me about my taste in music. I have XM and I like to listen to 90’s alternative and grunge, the Lithium channel. He wanted “The Bridge.” I settled for 70’s rock. On the way to Sheetz to find a vacuum to suck out the puddle of Rain-X on my backseat floor, my mom started to have a panic attack because she couldn’t figure out how to unlock the doors if the car is in gear. I said I don’t know to do that. I am trying to drive and I don’t have the patience for this shit. I was able to pull over safely. I parked the car and she rolled down the window and proceeded to argue with me, about the locked doors and she kept clicking them off, but they would switch back on when the car is in gear. It is a safety feature. What I don’t understand is she was fine, on the way to the bridal shower last weekend, when she was in the front, but dad had to be in the front and mess with my radio. I was so annoyed.
When we put the money in the vacuum it didn’t work.  It wouldn’t suck anything up. I said, “Okay, let’s go inside and get our dollar back. That solves this problem.” We got the dollar back, got back in the car, and my mom had the window down, and my dad wanted the heat on full blast. I felt like I was driving children. I was so over it and didn’t want to go to lunch at this point. I was hungry, but I was losing my appetite. I could be home reading and doing work, no I am here dealing with this. I drove to GetGo, no vacuum. I drove to Sunoco, no vacuum. I was over it.
I parked the car at Armstrong’s restaurant, we walked in, got a booth, and sat down. I ordered the baked ziti, dinner portion. I was messing around today, with a small salad, Italian dressing. I was so short with the conversation. I just wanted to go home. After lunch, I drove home and my parents left. I got out of the car and saw my neighbor. She asked me what was wrong, and I told her. She said, do you have a shop vac? I said, “yes.” she said, use my extension cord, and my outdoor outlet. I said, “really? that would be so helpful.” She went inside and got her extension cord, she was on her way to Ohio. She handed me the cord and left to get on her way.
The cord was so tangled. I  was able to unravel it the best I could, and I brought up the shop vac, and hooked it up, and was able to suck out the fluid from the backseat floor. In the meantime, Drew was sending me pictures from the game. I could cry. I hate doing this stuff, and it was a long day. Andrew’s mom texted me and asked me what time we will be ready tonight? I told her I don’t think we are going. I had a long day and I am dealing with so much right now, and I don’t feel like drinking tonight, but thanks anyway.
After I got done cleaning the car, I put the shop vac away, and wrapped the cord, and stuffed it back in the plastic container, that it came in. I put it inside our house by our front door, so I remember to give it back to Amy when I see her. I locked up my car and got comfy on the couch. I started prepping for class on Tuesday. I was so over this day.
Anthony texted me and told me that he was on his way over. I needed to vent. He brought Dylan and Ray along with them. We all decided to go to Primanti’s for some green beer. I didn’t feel like changing, so I wore sweat pants with my friends, and they were like you could at least put jeans on to go out. I was like don’t start with me today.
When we got to Primanti’s, it surprisingly wasn’t packed, but it wasn’t night time yet. We all ordered green beers and Drew was going to meet us there. I was ready to see him. All I wanted to do all day was see him. I knew he would be able to help me and be there to support me with my mom acting like a lunatic.
When Drew arrived, we moved to a high top table, instead of a booth. I was so happy to see him. I clued him on the events of the day, and he was so upset for me and sorry that I had to deal with all that today. We talked about the game.  After a few more green beers it was time to go, we went home and I got a shower. I told my friends, that I just wanted to be alone with my husband for tonight. I had enough today.

Saturday: Hair Appointment

This morning I woke up around 8:00am. I got a shower, and got ready to leave the house for my hair appointment. I was running a bit behind, so I just drove straight to the hair salon. I wanted to stop and see my parents, and my dogs. My mom was out to lunch, so I figured I would just stop over after my hair appointment and kill some time before I had to go to Pitt to work on my group project.
When I arrived at my hair appointment, my hair tech was still busy working on her client before me, so I talked to Leanne and Maci. Leanne was coming down with a cold, so I didn’t want to get too near her. I didn’t kiss Maci either. I wasn’t sure if she was going to catch what her mom had, or not. I am over being sick.
When it was time for me to sit in the chair, I explained to her how I wanted heavy highlights and a little low lights, but mostly highlights. She said, she can do that. I told her I wanted to go lighter again. I do like the dark root, but I am ready for a brighter blonde look again.
While I was under the dryer, I sent Drew a picture of me with the foils in my hair. He said, I looked good. He is so cute. When she washed my hair out, and took out the foils. I was excited to see it styled and dry. She did trim my layers, but didn’t take anything off the length.
When she styled it and dried it, I was in love. I was already lighter, then I thought I would be. The dimensional blonde looks awesome! I hope people notice it at work. When I left the salon, I stopped at my parents for a half an hour.
When I walked into my parents, the dogs came running. I love seeing them. They jump up on their hind legs and try to kiss me and climb on me.  I have missed them so much. I sat with them and visited with my dad for a little. Then I had to leave to go to Pitt’s campus to work on our group project.
When I arrived on campus, I parked under the building I work in, Posvar. My group and I were meeting in that building, and going to work on our project and hopefully finish it today. I was ready to put this one behind me. We ended up going to the classroom, that is right outside my department. We wrote up our script for our narrated presentation via power point. We also were able to get it all finished that day. It is not quite exactly 10-mins, but if we were to add anymore it would also be stupid, so I think it should be quality over quantity, but we all agreed it is good enough and we were ready to go by 5pm.
When I got home, I was so glad to see Drew. We relaxed and hung out for a bit, then we went to dinner with his parents. We were going to meet them at the Cafe. I was excited for it at the time, but when we arrived there, I wasn’t feeling it for some reason. I was still blowing my nose at dinner, and I had a coughing fit and had to go to the bathroom for minute. It was not fun for me at all. I really just wanted to go home after that.
After we ate dinner, Drew finished his beer, then we were on our way home. He said, that he felt the same way. We both had wings and fries and kind of regret it now. It didn’t taste as good as we thought it would. We were ready just to go home.
