Kate Spade Mug

So I did end up going back to Macy’s and getting the Christmas gifts for my mom that matched her Lenox: Winterberry set. Also I did get the Kate Spade mug and the ornaments Drew picked out that night at the mall. When I checked out, the bridal consultant gave us the bridal discount on each individual item. I was so happy and satisfied. This mug is so cute!

Christmas Shopping Blackout

After work, we had to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. I don’t want to be shopping up until Christmas, but there were still somethings that I needed to pick up for my mom, and perhaps myself. JOnce we got to the mall, Drew dropped me off at the entrance and he went to go park his car. I walked inside JCPenney’s, a woman greeted me and handed me a coupon for 20% off. I gratefully took the coupon, smiled and said, “thank you.” I walked past the associate and saw all the Santa Claus figures and the Nutcrackers. We don’t have a single Santa Claus in our town home. We need a Santa Claus, but which one? There was one where Santa was dressed in the traditional red suit with sequins, but there was also one where Santa was dressed in a burgundy type cape with the gold staff. Sure, everyone loves the traditional Santa with the red sequined suit with his list and his sack of toys, but I liked the Santa with his burgundy cape and gold wizard staff. There was something mystical about this Santa. I wonder which one Drew would pick?
When Drew walked in, a woman handed him a 20% off coupon and then he saw me looking at the all the different Santa Clauses. He greatly accepted the coupon and said, “thank you” and approached me. He said, “look babe they are on sale.” I smiled. I loved those words, that means we are getting a Santa, but which one? I said, “Yes, they are. Can we get one?” He said, “Yes, we can.” I said,  “Which one do you like?” I said, “I like this one.” I picked up the mystical one the burgundy one. He said, “really? He looks like a wizard.” I said, “you think?” He said, “Yea, I like this one.” He picked up the traditional Santa with the red sequined cape and his sack of toys. I smiled and said, “really? The list is so tacky and traditional.” He said, “this is Santa, he is not some wizard.” I laughed. He said, “We will get both.” I smiled and said, “Are you sure?” he said, “Yes, babe. I am sure.” He looked across from the Santa Claus section and saw they have Nutcrackers. He said, “Babe, they have nutcrackers too. Do you want a Nutcracker?” I said, “I would love one.” We walked over to the Nutcrackers. He asked me which one I like. I picked up the one that had sequined uniform. He said, “I was thinking that one too.” We both smiled.
After we checked out at JCPenney’s with our 20% coupons. Drew walked the Nutcrakcer and our two Santas to the car. We still have Christmas shopping to do. While he was doing that, I walked to the yoga pants and tops section. I thought about how I need to get back to the gym. I saw this shirt will sweat for Rose. That is the truth. Drew met me and we walked hand-in-hand to Things Remembered to place the order for Grandma’s Christmas Stocking, and his dad’s rocks glass that had a cigar holder with on the side. It was cute and so for him. While I was placing the order, Drew stepped out of the store to call his brother to see what to get their mom for Christmas. I suggested they chip in for a gift card to the Sewickley Spa. Things Remembered Said that my order would be in on the 21st. That is so close to Christmas too close for me.
Our last stop was Macy’s. While we were in Macy’s, we were walking around Home Goods. We picked out my mom’s gifts and I saw this adorable Kate Spade mug that I wanted it. When all of the power went out. Drew was over looking at ornaments and I was frozen solid near the bridal section where all the china was. The lights were out for a brief moment, then they came back on again. Then after a few minutes the lights went out again, and then came back on again. This time it was only the emergency power. Drew approached the China section and said, that was so weird!” I said, “Yes, it was.” We looked around the registers were down. We had to leave our things with the bridal consultant, and he would call us tomorrow when the power was on again and the registers were working again. We tried to be productive.

Dinner and Out

After work today, I went home, changed, and got ready to go over Anthony’s. When I arrived, he was still inside. I needed him to buzz me into his apartment. Of course he is taking his good ol’ time. I took a Facebook life video (I will upload it later). As I was recording this video, he came out of his apartment building and scared me. It was pretty funny.

Dinner:

When we arrived to Settler’s Ridge, we decided to eat at Walnut Grill. The hostess asked us Lounge or Dining room. I said, “We are young, the Lounge.” Anthony laughed. We order drinks first. They had $4 dollar Titos. I know I am not supposed to have alcohol, but the week I had I felt like I needed a drink. I had a Titos vodka and water. I took my time browsing the menus. It is not hard to eat out on Keto, but it does take time to read the descriptions and decide.  I decided on a steak burger with extra bacon, lettuce, with a side of vegetables. I was being good, minus the alcohol.
At dinner we talked about his dating drama, but also my group drama and school. I told him we were placed in groups based on our MBTI results (Myers Briggs’) and I said, “I am an ENFJ…” He laughed and then it hit him and he said, “oh My God.” I am an ENFJ too!” We instantly grew even closer and developed an even stronger bond. We do get a long so well. Typically, two extroverts don’t, but we do!

We had to take this picture outside to signify that we are intellectuals, but more importantly we are best friends, who have the exact same personality type.

Anyways, we solved all the problems at dinner and we felt like we were successfully got up on each other’s lives.

We wandered into Michael’s craft store and checked out the Halloween Fall decor. I found some leaves and I had to wrap myself up in them. When I see fall leaves, I think of my wedding. I had such a beautiful October wedding. I was married on my birthday October 24th. I do love fall.

At Michael’s, Anthony did purchase a cute little wooden sign that says, “Thanksgiving is Cranberries without the liquor”, or something to that effect. I thought it was cute. If I hosted, Thanksgiving, I would have bought it myself.

Also, most of the Halloween decorations were cheap. I am picky when it comes to Halloween decorations. They can’t be cheap.

After Michael’s, we wandered into Barnes and Noble. I wanted to buy a Kate Spade Tumbler to reward myself for completing my first week of Keto and staying dedicated, so that is exactly what I did.

On the way out of Barnes and Noble I had to pay respects to my favorite author, F. Scott  Fitzgerald and favorite book, The Great Gatsby. I wanted to buy this poster, but I am sure there are some corporate rules and regulations about that. There is another poster I want in the store and it is by the Starbucks Cafe, the cover of the novel This side of Paradise.  I do love my Fitz!

Anthony didn’t really seem to want to go out. I didn’t push it.

On the way back to Anthony’s to get my car, Dylan texted him and said, “Want to go to the Blue Moon?”

Kate Spade and Too Many Others

This is probably the most serious blog post I will ever do, or have ever done. It is a call to mental health. Today, Kate Spade was found dead by an apparent suicide. She hung her self from a scarf, that was tied to her door knob. For those of you, who do not know who Kate Spade was, she was a fashion designer and husband to Andy Spade, who co-founded the Kate Spade brand.

Kate Spade’s collection is known for bold colors, flirty, and classy prints and designs. I own quite of few things that are Kate Spade. She was my favorite designer. I was sadden by the news of her death. I immediately turned to the internet and found out some interesting information. Kate Spade New York issued a statement on CNN.com, “Although Kate has not been affiliated with the brand for more than a decade, she and her husband and creative partner, Andy, were the founders of our beloved brand.” I was shocked by this. I hadn’t realized that she was involved anymore with her brand anymore. I do remember reading something some where that Coach bought her out. All the articles have read things like she suffered with business decisions, her marriage was a mess; he wanted a divorce and she didn’t etc. Whatever the reason, it is not worth it to end one’s life.

Kate Spade New York, issued this statement:

Please if you are struggling, and you need to speak to someone, it is never too late to seek help. No one is ever too far gone.

If you are having thoughts of suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 (TALK) or go to SpeakingOfSuicide.com/resources for a list of additional resources.]

Gym & Birthday Dinner

At noon, we went to the gym and got a good work out in, after my cardio, I did some weights with Drew, then I went home and showered. I got ready to go to my parents. When Drew got home, he got a shower, got dressed, then we were out the door to my parents. I was so happy to see my dogs. I put a little Halloween tutu on Paris. She didn’t like it too much.

Image may contain: Danielle Hornyak, smiling, indoorWhen we arrived to my parents it was 3:30pm. I snuggled my pups and kissed them. I missed them when I am not there. Drew and I started on the beer, then his parents arrived shortly after we did. My mom put some snacks out, so of course I filled up on those before dinner. She made my favorite dinner ever, which is Meatball Stroganoff. She also made a pork tenderloin. It was so good.

After dinner, we sang happy birthday and I opened my gifts. The first ones I opened were Anniversary. We got another 5-piece setting to my Kate Spade wedding china pattern from his parents, then my mom and dad gave us money. I thought that was so nice of them.

When I opened my birthday gifts, I got 3 Alex and Ani bracelets from my mother-in-law and father-in-law, as well as a another 5-piece setting to my Kate Spade wedding china pattern. My parents got me the iwatch 3. I love it! I was so surprised. They told me, that they weren’t sure if it was going to come in, in time, or not.

So earlier that day, my dad had to go out to the Apple Store in South Hills and get it. They only had one left. They canceled the order with Best Buy, since they got this one instead. I was so happy it was there. It is so pretty I can’t stop looking at it! It was so easy to set up too.
Shortly after cake and dinner, it finally set it in a little bit. On Tuesday, I am going to be 30! It is so crazy to me. Around 8pm, we got ready to leave. His parents were going to leave too. My mom packed up the left over dinner and gave it to us to take home. I was glad that we were able to do this, this weekend.

A Night at my Parents/Retail Therapy

This morning, I said goodbye to Drew since he was going to Ben’s after work for an inauguration party. I was going to my parents for the night, later. I already feel like I am going to miss him. When I woke up, I did some laundry, but I called the endodontist and they said they could get me in at 1045am. I was having some pain, and more pain than usual I thought. I don’t remember being in this much pain, during last root canal. So, I didn’t get a chance to put in his work clothes in the wash, but oh well.
On my way to the endodontist out in Wexford, Anthony called me and said that he wasn’t going to be ready in time and apologized. I wanted him to go with me for support. When I finally arrived out in Wexford, the office was closed. I call the number back and told them that the door was locked. She said, “Oh your appointment is at the Cranberry location.” So I turned around and drove 19 more minutes out of my way to the Cranberry location. Thankfully, I was seeing the same doctor. She drilled the filling out of the bite, and numbed me AGAIN! She said, that I was going to be in some pain, especially because I was in pain before arriving to the her for the procedure. She prescribed me a steroid in case I should need it to speed the healing, and suggested I make my cleaning appointment two weeks from Monday. Ugh!
When I left the office, I called Drew he was busy at work, but we were able to talk for a bit. I updated him and he was glad that all that I was going through was normal. I drove straight to my parents and was so excited to see my dogs. I didn’t want to go back home. I got the car packed up, as well before I left. I just didn’t want to go back to the empty townhouse. I couldn’t wait to see my dogs! When I arrived, they gave me kisses! I laid down on the couch with them, until my mom came home.
When my mom came home, we fed the dogs, and left to go to the North Hills. We wanted to go to Chili’s, but couldn’t find Chili’s. We missed the turn off, so we went to Bonefish. We sat at the bar and had a nice dinner and conversation. It was nice to sit at the bar. We never sit at the bar.  I had two beers, despite being on antibiotics. I missed Drew so much.
After dinner, we went to Nordstrom Rack and Saks off Fifth. I couldn’t find anything at Saks, but I did find a nice black dress and a kate spade purse at Nordstrom Rack. I am so spoiled, but I got to get both! My parents are the best. I love my little purse.

After shopping, we stopped at Shop n Save on the way home, and I got the ingredients for my dip that I am supposed to make for dinner tomorrow. When we went home, we watched the inauguration balls, and then it was off to bed.
