Maci’s 7th Birthday

Maci’s 7th Birthday

This morning, I got our things put together in my old room, so when Drew came back from the chiropractor we could pack up our cars. I am always ready to head home after we have been in Crafton for awhile. I miss our home. It is nice to get away every now and then.

When Andrew came back to my parents’, I took the dogs out one more time, and then got them settled. We left to go to JCPenney’s. He had to go pick up the shoes he ordered online. I found a round table cloth that was the color that I needed. It was originally $50. We paid $13.00 for it! I love sales.

After JCPPenney’s, we went to Starbucks, and I tired the Ultra caramel Frap. They were so busy. It took forever to get our drinks. Andrew and I didn’t mind the wait. We sat on some chairs and just enjoyed not being at work, and cooped up in the house. It was our Saturday and we were going to enjoy it, even if we were in line at Starbucks.

Once they called my name, I realized they forgot my shot of espresso. I told the lady that she might have forgotten my shot, and she said I did. I am sorry. I said would you mind pouring it right on top, I don’t mind if it is not mixed in. She did just that, it was a bit messy I cleaned off the side of the cup. I was happy. It didn’t make any difference to me. It was good, but I am not sure if I will get it again.

When we left the mall, we went to Walmart and bought Maci’s birthday gift, a card, and cards for our mamas. Mother’s Day was tomorrow! After we left Walmart, we went back to my parents and hung out until was time to go to dinner. I made us hot dogs and fries for lunch. We were not going to be hungry for the party.

My parents arrived home from Washington DC, and the puppies were so happy to see them. They gave us the gifts they bought for us. I am so spoiled. Andrew’s gift was going to arrive later. They had to special order it. After we ate lunch and spent time with my parents, we left to go to Maci’s Birthday.

When we arrived at Leanne and Dan’s we parked in the back by their garage. We backed into a spot, so we could just drive up the driveway and onto the street when it was time to leave. We weren’t sure how long were going to stay. When we walked up the walkway, Maci ran to me and hugged me. I wished her happy birthday and gave her a big hug. She is getting so big.

There were so many children running around the lawn and the adults were sitting around a table under a tent drinking, and talking. We said hi to the people we knew and I went inside and set our gift down on the table. I grabbed Andrew and me a beer and we said hi to Leanne and Dan.

Shortly after, Cinderella arrived at the party and she was a hit with the children. She was so good and stayed in character the whole time. It was so cool to see her. The woman that was Cinderella owns this business called Magic wand princess parties. She has a couple people under her, who play other characters. What a business! She charges $100  an hour.  What am I doing wrong? I could do that, but I can’t sing. I wouldn’t feel comfortable singing, but there are other characters, who do not sing.  It would be so fun to do. Cinderella sang for the children, took pictures, signed autographs, and danced. It was so fun to see the kids interact with her. I even got a selfie with Cinderella! She was so nice.

After Cinderella left, Maci blew out the candles on her 7th birthday cake and opened gifts. It was so cute. She looked so tired from opening all the gifts. She is a spoiled and blessed little girl, who is very much loved.

After gifts, Drew and I hung out for a little while longer before going home. We were going to have another busy day. When we got home, I took another pregnancy test. After today, and all the craziness, I wanted to make sure that I really wasn’t pregnant. I mean I would be okay, but it’s just not ideal. I am not ready to be a mom yet.

When I was in the bathroom, I called Anthony and made him talk to me while I took the test. He was making me laugh so hard, so it was easy to pee. When the test was ready to be read, it said Negative, “Not Pregnant.” I sighed a deep sigh of relief. I told Anthony. He said, “Good” and laughed. I just hope it stayed this way, and my period would arrive soon. I heard Drew come home and I got off the phone with Anthony. I wiped and cleaned up, walked my hands, and took the pregnancy test downstairs. Drew was in the bathroom, and saw what was in my hands. His eyes widened. I didn’t say anything to him. I just showed him the test. He said, “Oh God seriously?” I showed him that it was negative and smiled. He laughed and took a sigh of relief. He said, “You know I would be okay if it was positive right? It’s just after today all the kids and the way you came downstairs it scared me.” I laughed and said, “I know I feel the same way. I am just getting so frustrated.” He said, “I know baby. I hope it comes soon.”

After I threw the test away, I got a shower and got some comfy clothes on. We watched the Handmaid’s Tale. She got captured and she is back with the Waterford’s. I knew she would be. The episode ended with her seemly successfully brainwashed by Aunt Lydia, but we will see what next week brings. I think Drew is a little into it, but it is hard to tell. After the episode was over we went to bed, it was another busy day tomorrow.

Nails & Mother-in-Law’s Birthday

This morning, I got up at 10am, got a shower, and had some coffee. I made us pancakes for breakfast, and I watched some episodes of Reign. I am almost finished with Season 4. I will miss this show. Drew got ready to go to the gym, and I got ready to go to my parents in Crafton.
When I arrived at my parents, I noticed there was an unfamiliar car parked next to my dad. I wondered who is here, and they didn’t tell me that anyone was coming. When I walked inside my parent’s house, my dogs greeted me at the door. I bent down to pet them. I walked past them and into the living room. I was curious to see who was there.
When I entered the living room, I looked over to the couch and saw my cousin Bing. I thought oh great, he is going to sing, or he has already sung. It is coming. I kissed my parents, and then sat down on the floor and listened to the older generation talk. This is pretty much my life. I was an only child, so I heard lots of adult talk and Bing didn’t really seem too interested in talking to me, just parents, so I picked up one of my dogs and just snuggled one of them on my lap.
All of a sudden, Bing burst out into song. I looked down at Louie, my dog, who was laying in my lap. His head was turning to the side, and wondering what is all that noise. I tried to keep from laughing. I knew it was only a matter of time. I texted Drew. I said, Bing is here, and he is singing. Drew said, Of course. I had to hold back some laughter. Now you may think I am mean, but it is like the Johnny Angel and the Halos type music. If you aren’t from Pittsburgh and don’t know who Johnny Angel and the Halos are, then think of it as old jazz music, or like “old-timey” 50s music. Not something that I listen to really.
Around 15 mins to 2pm, I kissed my parents and my dog’s goodbye. I had a nail appointment to attend. I drove to the nail salon, and Leanne packed up her nail stuff so we could go to her house. She had enough of the salon and was getting annoyed with the people there. On the way to Leanne’s, my car notified me that there was low tire pressure in the front right wheel.
When we arrived at Leanne and Dan’s, we went inside and she got to work on my nails. Dan came home with Maci, who I was so happy to see! She gave a hug and a kiss. I love her. Dan is a mechanic and has done work for us before on my old car. He put air in my tire and told me that after I drive it, the sensor should go off and I should be good. He handed me a beer, a miller 64. I couldn’t turn it down.

After my nails were done, I drove home to Moon. I had to meet Drew at the house, we were going to get in his car and go to Beaver Valley Mall, so the jeweler could look at my grandma’s ring. It is too small and is going to need more platinum added to it. The ring is starting to get thin. it is 81 years old. I love it! I feel so honored to have it. I wear it pretty much every day.

On my way to Moon, the tire pressure notification was still on and I was really losing air rapidly. When I got home, I kissed Drew, changed, and then we were out the door. We decided last minute to take my car to NTB. We took separate cars. He drove mine and I drove his car.

We took his car to the mall, to look at the luggage for our trip. We needed one more suitcase, he and I both. We needed a bigger one. We found a 30″ at JCPenney’s and it was on sale. We both got one, and then we got the call from NTB. They said I had a small hole the size of a pin. They were able to patch it up until I would need a new tire. I was happy it was fixable, that costs $30.00.
After the mall, we drove to NTB, since they were going to close at 7pm. We picked up my car and took it back home. We then got in his car and went to the store to get a card and a gift card. We were going to meet his parents and his brother at the cafe, in Aliquippa. Well when we arrived, it turns out that Tommy wasn’t there only his mom and dad, which was okay. We talked about everything vegetarianism, LGBT, my ring, my parents, our England trip, their Arizona trip, grandma and we gave them their birthday cards. Andrew’s dad’s birthday was last month. I had grilled cheese with tomato and fries for dinner, and Drew had a burger.
After dinner, they picked up something to take home to Tommy. They kissed us goodbye and then they left. I was tired and ready to go home. I had enough for the day. I really did. I was over it. I got my corrections from my tutor via e-mail. Tomorrow is going to be a long day of homework.

Nails and Hair

This morning, I got up at 7:30am, which is super early for a Saturday. I got a shower and got ready to go to my hair appointment. When I arrived at the salon, she was the only one there. I was glad to see her. I sat in the chair and told her I need to go a bit darker. My hair was too light at the root. I wanted darker roots, like the time before last. I told her the color washed out too quickly. She understood and mixed my color. Then when she was applying it. I knew it was the right mixture because my head was itching!
While the color was setting in, we chatted about my job, the holidays, her kids, and etc. When she washed my hair out, she also waxed my eyebrows, then she blew my hair dry, and styled it. We decided not to cut it this time since we cut it last time and I am trying to grow it out.
After my hair appointment, I went to my parents to see my dogs. I missed them so much. I couldn’t wait to see them. I played with them for a bit, then went with my mom to get our nails done. We stopped for coffee along the way. Once we got to the nail salon, I couldn’t decide if I wanted a full set, SNS, or Gel. My mom was getting SNS. I let her go first. I did love SNS, but I ruined them when I was helping Anthony and Ray move the couch, and since they were a dark color, I wasn’t liking how they looked as they grew out.
When my mom was finished, the nail tech; Amanda worked on my nails. We decided a little bit of tip to create some length, then the clear gel dip powder, along with gel polish. I love my nails. I have a gold glitter accent nail on my ring finger, but every other nail is Pink. I knew if I got red I would hate it after Christmas, eventually soak them off. I didn’t want that.
After the nail salon, we went to Hanlon’s for breakfast where we met my Dad. I was already so tired. I didn’t want to go to the Christmas party tonight, but I felt so obligated to go. Poor Drew was running around all day for Christmas. He was getting last minute gifts, and we still have a bit to do.
After breakfast, I went home to Drew. He had the dip all made and told me got a Save-the-Date in the mail for a wedding in April, and more Christmas cards. I was just happy to be home. He loved my nails and my hair.
When it was time to leave for Leanne and Dan’s we had to stop at Sheetz and bought drinks and chips for the dip. I really didn’t want to go to this party. I picked up two ring pops for Maci. I know she likes them.
When we arrived at Leanne and Dan’s, George and Sharie were already there. Jada was there with her little friend, and Leanne was in the kitchen washing dishes and not ready at all. I didn’t know why I was so surprised to see that. I helped her get things ready and heated up my dip. I just wasn’t in the mood at all, but I tried to sound festive.
Andrew and I ate a little bit of the food, and I had one beer. I just wasn’t feeling the atmosphere. I talked to my ex’s brother, Shawn. It always makes it awkward for me to see him. I don’t have feelings for my ex, it’s just he symbolizes a lot of the drama that I went through with my ex and his family, but Dan (Leanne’s Husband) is friends with my ex and his brother.
Throughout the evening, we played several games of Mad-Libs, but they all gave like nasty and sexual references. They kept asking me what is an Adjective? What is a noun? What is a verb? What is an adverb? I was like oh wow guys!

Drew and I left around 9:30pm and went home and watched the rest of Office Christmas Party, and I put some laundry in. I was just happy to be home, but I knew I wasn’t going to stay awake too much longer.

Leanne and Dan’s Cookout

This morning, when we woke up, we felt pretty useless from all the food and beer we consumed the night before. I was laying on the couch with Drew, watching television when he got the text from Dan saying the car is done for the most part, and it should be ready by 1pm. Then Leanne texted me asking me if we were coming to the cookout. I really didn’t want to go and neither did Drew. I just wanted to pick up his car and be on our way. Drew wanted to cookout on his grill, and we wanted to be alone at some point during the weekend.

Well we ended up going to the cookout, and Maci was sick. We didn’t bring anything. We offered, but we didn’t need to, so we didn’t. Dan put the finishing touches on the car, and Drew pulled it out of the garage, finally!  We helped them set up the tables, chairs, and tent for the cookout.

At one point Dan started cooking, but then he had to run out and get plates and forks. Everything was behind because he didn’t finish the car on time, and things were rushed. Maci was sick. Leanne was sitting around bullshitting with Gretchen, Shawn’s girlfriend. I was so annoyed. After we ate, we hung out around the table and then they started talking about Bumper’s wedding. George said, “if it even happens. He proposes to every girl he sleeps with.” They all looked at me. I made the motion with my hands like cut it out, stop. It is so awkward when they bring him up, and the fact that I was his girlfriend at one point makes me feel like I am forever marked. It’s fucking awkward for Drew too I am sure. I can’t stand them sometimes. I just put up with the bullshit because I am friends with Leanne.

After the conversation, switched gears we got up to leave. Drew and I had enough of the O’Grodnik House. We needed to go grocery shopping and we wanted to get back, relax, and finish watching Black Sails. I will miss this show. It was full of swashbuckling pirates, Long John Silver, trade deals, and relationships. We said our goodbyes, which always takes a few minutes. Then we were on our way back to Moon. We stopped at the grocery store and did some shopping, then went home and relaxed for the rest of the night.

Car Troubles & Yoga with Maci

Car Troubles & Yoga with Maci

This morning, I was still reeling inside from yesterday. We did however, go out and try to get some business. We were hoping for a good day. We visited some businesses, Burns and Scalo said they want to revamp their drug and alcohol program and want us to meet with them sometime in the couple weeks to go over what we have to offer. I told Chris to go to Burns and Scalo a long time ago. I was nervous to walk in there, it wasn’t a good experience, working there.

When I walked into Burns and Scalo, the receptionist is an older middle aged woman, and the HR coordinator is new. The CIO is the same. We passed each other on the way to the HR coordinator’s office, which is now on the other side of the building. Also, as we were walking in a familiar sales executive was walking out, I forget his name, but he was odd. It was weird being in there. When we left Burns and Scalo, we drove around to the surrounding areas, and nothing major happened there. They just took our business card, and a brochure. Before we went back to the office, we went to the Amazon Fulfillment center. We were hoping for a good outcome.

When we walked into the Fulfillment center, it looked like a prison break. Everyone was starting to leave at the same time. We thought it was a fire alarm. We were waiting for the HR coordinator to come to the window, someone was supposedly getting her for us. So Victoria and I waited, and waited.

Finally, Victoria asked someone where they were going. He said, “oh we are going on break.” She said, “You guys get to all go at the same time?” He said,”Yea, are you going to start working here?” We both said, “No”, at the same time. He laughed and said, “Aww Damn.” We both looked at one another and gave each other a look. Finally, the HR coordinator came to the window, and approached us. She looked familiar, then I realized I went to grade school with her. Her name is Julie. She remembered me, but it wasn’t going to help. She said, she would pass this off to corporate. They typically do hiring events, and bring everything with them, so they pretty much do it themselves. That was a lost cause. Time to go back to the office.

Once we got back to the office, I told Chris all that happened, and he was glad we had some success, especially with Burns and Scalo, so he drafted up a proposal, and sent it over to them, and will follow up with them in a few weeks. I just get so frustrated with them. We could have had their business a lot sooner, than this, but he never went out to sell. He just hung out with us in the office, expecting us to cold call.

After work, I changed in the bathroom and then got in the car, and went to Autozone to pick up the parts for Drew’s car. Then went back to my parents in crafton. My dad bought me subway. After I picked up the subway, I went back to my parents to eat. After I ate, I kind of laid down on the couch with the dogs for a minute, then got back up and went to Leanne and Dan’s, once they got home from going shopping.

When I got to Leanne and Dan’s, I hung out with Leanne and Maci, until Drew arrived. Once Drew arrived, Dan started working on his car. Apparently, shock plugs are typically easy to replace if you don’t run into any issues. Well, they ran into all sorts of issues. The one side, the bolt had to get re-threaded and he had to do that tomorrow, because it was going on 9:00pm, and no place was open.

At one point, they had to stop and get some parts, and a bigger wrench, etc.  Maci and I did yoga and documented it on Facebook live.  Finally, we just decided to leave and come back tomorrow to pick up the car. Drew asked if I could swing by after work and pick up his car if it was done. I told him I could, but I can’t wait for it. I have plans to meet up with Paula and Phil for a drink in Oakland. They are done at 3:00pm, due to the holiday. I was a little pissed, like I am not going to stop my plans, just so you can have your car to take to the chiropractor. We will take mine instead, and get there just fine. When we got home, the Penguins game was still going on, so Drew stayed up to watch it end in Overtime. I got a shower, and went to bed.

Good to See Friends

This morning, we went to the chiropractor, and I was so tight. I knew this wasn’t going to be fun. He got me to crack little bit, but sleeping on my parent’s bed, and my hips, my ankle were a little tender. I am due to go back on the 20th, and I think I will be better for that visit, especially by then we will be back in our old routine of going to the gym and sleeping in a firmer bed.

After the chiro, we went to Starbucks, and then we went to Autozone in Moon. We had to pick up the stuff he needed in order to change his brakes, and his oil. While we were at Autozone, RMU’s commencement ceremony just ended. We were right across the street from the campus, and I got to thinking about my interview, and how bad I wanted that position, and how bad I wanted to work on campus. I am not sure how it is going to go, next week, or even if I will get an offer. I don’t have the feeling one way or the other. I am not sure. I watched some of the graduates walk across university to the shopping center with their families. I tried to remember my graduation, but I couldn’t. I don’t really remember it. I remember bits and pieces, but nothing really stands out, weird how that happens over time.

After we picked up the tools to fix the brakes, we went to walmart to get Maci a birthday gift. I figured I would just give it to her today, since her birthday was last week. We are going to her birthday party next weekend, but I figured she should have her gift now, instead. We got her a shopkins set, and hoped she didn’t already have it, and a little Poppy doll. I hoped she didn’t have the Poppy doll either. While we were in Walmart, I was on the phone with Anthony he was telling me about the drama, and how he is not friends with Dylan and Carrie anymore. I heard the drama, and then Drew ran into an old coworker of us his from Service Link, so I got off the phone with Anthony, and was able to chat with his old coworker for a few minutes. Then we left, and went home to hang out for a bit. I got to do some laundry and relax with Drew for a while, before we left for Leanne and Dan’s.

Once we got to Leanne and Dan’s, I couldn’t wait to see Maci. We parked in their garage. I let the boys get to work, and I went up to hang out with Maci and Leanne. She loved her gift. She already had a little Poppy doll, but she didn’t have any of the Shopkins that we bought her. I was so happy! I also got to meet little Rosetta the new kitten in the family, who looks just like Tigger. Leanne showed me the new fire stick that they got for their television. They paid 100 to have it jail broken. I said, “Drew could have done that for you for free. We are going to get one too.” Leanne, said, “Damn I wish I would have known.” She showed me how it works, and I was able to search for the shows I wanted to watch when we got ours. I was impressed, illegal, or not. It is still cool.

Maci and I watched Moana, and then a little bit of the Boss baby. Leanne made Drew and I tacos for dinner. I had two, but then it dawned on me that we were supposed to go to the cafe with his parents that night. I figured I would just eat small there. Drew didn’t get a chance to eat. He was busy with the car. It eventually took a few hours to get the brakes done, and we didn’t leave there until 7:30pm. I looked at the clock at one point, and saw that it was 7:15pm. I called his mom and told her that we were going to be late, this took a little longer than expected. She was understanding of it. She knew we had things going on. His dad was getting annoyed and probably wasn’t in the best mood. I knew this was going to be fun!

Once we arrived at the cafe, his dad was in the worst mood. It has been awhile since I seen him this cranky. I tried to ignore it, but it wasn’t our fault that it took as long as it did. We had shit to do and I told them that before. We put our order in, while we were on the way there, so it would be ready, when we got there. It came out shortly after we arrived. I wasn’t all that hungry, but I did eat some wings and a side salad. They were dead for the Pens game. The pens ended up losing to the capitals, but there were still many games to be played. I was hopeful that the pens would win against the capitals when all was said and done.

During dinner, we told his parents about the fire stick, and his dad said, “you gotta watch those fire sticks, my barber has one and said it is constantly buffering.” I just ignored him and said, “Leanne and Dan have one and it works great.” He didn’t say anything back to me.  Drew and I just looked at each other. We both knew what kind of mood he was in. I talked to his mom most of the time, and I told her that RMU is supposed to let me know next week, and how excited I am. She was praying for me, and I am so grateful for it. I need all the help I can get.

Once we got home, we went to bed. It was a long day.

Halloween 2016

Today, we had a chiropractor appointment, and then we were going to hang out until it was time to go to my parents. My mom and dad were cooking me dinner for my birthday, and they had a cake there for me, and that meant more gifts and I get to see my puppies! I love seeing Paris and Louie. I miss them so much when I am not home.

When we went over to my parents, we brought our Halloween costumes, so we could change over there, and then just go to Leanne’s. After dinner, Happy Birthday, and gifts, we got ready to in our costumes. Mine always takes the longest, because I have to put make up on. Andrew’s just has to put his on over his head, and he is done.  My mom took a picture of us, and then off to Leanne’s we went.

When we got to Leanne’s everyone was in the basement, I put my dip in the fridge, and then we went to down to join them.  Shawn, and Gretchen, Eddie, Mikey, Dan, Nikki, Tisha stopped by, Jada, and Maci were all present. Immediately, we were put on the beer pong table and weren’t allowed to leave because we kept winning. We eventually gave up the table, so we could sit down and drink. We had more fun this year, than in past years. Of course there was a little bit of drama with Jada, but that is how it is with that crew.
