Great Gatsby Nails

I got my nails filled in Oakland on my lunch break. They were in such bad shape. I had an appt for Friday, but I already had so much planned, and homework that I didn’t want to wait. Drew was off on Friday, as well.

On my lunch break, I went to S & T nails in Oakland. I went for an Art Deco design on my ring finger, since we are going to The Great Gatsby ballet on Saturday. They look pretty good! I have been to that salon before.IMG_0953.jpg

After my nail appointment, I was 15 mins late coming back from lunch, but I made it up that day. I was stuck on the phone in my office until 5pm. I was so ready for Friday to get here!

After work, Drew texted me and asked if I could meet him in Hogwarts (the 1st floor of the Cathedral). He said, he had something to give me. 🙂 I love it when he surprises me.

When I arrived to the Cathedral, he handed me a Pitt University store shopping bag. I looked at him and said, “what is it?!” I took the bag from him and opened it. It was a great Gatsby tote!

I was so surprised. He knows The Great Gatsby is my favorite book! My absolute favorite book! He said, “I saw this and I thought of you. They only had one left. They also had a wristlet too, but I figured you would want the tote more.” I was so touched by it. It is the little things.

Also, today, is my parents 37 year marriage anniversary!

Manicure

This morning I woke up around 9:30am. I had a manicure appointment in Crafton with Leanne. She asked if I wanted to come at 11:00am instead. It won’t take her long to finish up, her one customer. I got showered, got dressed, and texted Anthony back and forth about last night.
On my way to Crafton, I stopped at Starbucks and got an iced coffee with cream, a shot of espresso, and a whole wheat bagel with fat-free cream cheese. I drove to Crafton and then stopped at Dunkin Donuts for Leanne. She wanted a medium thin mint iced coffee with cream and sugar. I try to treat her every so often.
When I arrived at the nail salon, everyone was there. I set Leanne’s coffee down at her desk. I went back to the back and toasted my bagel. Nikki was there and she talked to me about how she went to Seven recently, and it was sort of fun, but it was a weird crowd, and how it isn’t the same anymore. I told her about my night last night and how it just was an off night. Nikki and I used to go out all the time, and we had off nights here and there too.
After I was finished with my bagel, Leanne started on my nails. I had taken off my acrylics, so I just needed a manicure to make the nails stronger again. She didn’t seem all that upset. I told her that Drew and I spent so much money on attractions for our England and France trip. We probably spent close to $1,000. I didn’t ask him for certain yet what the amount was, but I bet it was close.
After my manicure, I went tanning. I set the bed for 20 mins. I already had a base from when I went on Thursday. I fell asleep in bed. When I woke up, I had two minutes left in the bed. I just figured I would get up and get dressed. I was ready to head home. When I got dressed, I cleaned the bed. Leanne said she would be in touch about my next appointment. I am shooting for the 19th of May. I want to get a mani before England. I was already getting a pedicure next Sunday for Mother’s Day with my mom.
When I arrived home, Drew was home vacuuming and cleaning the house up a bit. I set my stuff down and kissed him. I went upstairs and got a shower since I went tanning. I changed into grey pants and Pittsburgh Penguins shirt. We were playing tonight. I wanted to show some team spirit.
That evening, we went to South Hills Village mall. I had a 6:00pm appointment at the Apple store with a genius. I needed to get my screen replaced. It was completely shattered from last night. When I arrived, they got me checked in and then took my phone. They said, that I could come back around 7:25 to pick it up, painless. We went to Red Robin the mall, and I had a cheeseburger and fries (I haven’t really been a vegetarian lately). I also had two tall glasses of Coors Light. I was so relaxed. We watched the start of the Penguins game. At a commercial, we cashed out and went back to the Apple Store to pick up my phone. It was ready! It looked like a brand new phone. They encouraged me to get a case for it. I agreed. The cases I like tend to break easily. I don’t have much luck.
We decided to stop at the Verizon store, and pick out a case. There was no one in there. It was empty! They had only 3 people working. The guy who wanted on us showed us where the cases are located and he said, “Of course we have the Kate Spade case. I said, “Perfect.” I picked out the one I wanted and it was Kate Spade. It has pink glitter on it and a grey stripe, “Sold.” The guy at the Apple store said, my Apple Care expires in October and we are unable to renew it. Typically people just upgrade by then. We asked Verizon if we were eligible to upgrade soon and he said, yes, we have 5 more payments on iPhone 7. Then we can upgrade so I will be due for one in October. Typically Apple releases a new phone every September. Drew and I are thinking of Upgrading for a Christmas present. The holidays will be limited due to trying to catch up on our finances after England.
When we got home, I got changed and then laid down on the couch with Drew and we watched the rest of the Penguin’s game.  I fell asleep here and there throughout the game. I was tired. After the game, I got up and went upstairs to go to bed. I was having second thoughts about barre in the morning.

Halloween Party

Halloween Party

This morning, I woke up and got ready to go to Crafton. I had a nail appointment at Bella’s Nails in Noblestown. I was meeting my mom at my parents’ house then we would drive to the Nail salon together. She was getting her nails done too.

When I arrived into Crafton, I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got my mom two pumpkin coffees and my dad a chocolate donut. When I got to my parents, my dad was so happy and surprised with his donut. I said hi to my dogs, and then we were on our way to the nail salon.

When we arrived, I sat in Anna’s chair, and my mom sat next to me. Anna was going to do my nails first, then my mom’s. While I was soaking my feet for my pedicure, she was going to finish up my mom. It took a little over 2 hours to be completely done. My mom and I tried the SNS dip powder nails. It is this powder that they dip your nails in, and it supposedly it has nutrients in it, and makes your nails grow. I wasn’t sure about that, but I am excited to see how long it lasts. I love having my nails and toes done. It has been so long since my last pedicure. My nails and toes are a dark purple, almost like a plum. Fall means dark colors!

After our nail appointment, my nail trip costs me $90.00, not including a tip. I know this is a special occasion. My mom and I met my dad at Hanlon’s in the shopping center and we had breakfast. Then it was back to my parents. I wanted to try on the white tights that I had for my costume tonight. I  knew my mom would give me her honest opinion on whether or not they fit properly. Thankfully, when I tried them on they fit. I was ready for tonight. I couldn’t wait.

When I got back to Moon, Drew just got home. He asked how my nail appointment went and if I had fun? I told him it was so relaxing. I showed him my nails and my toes I think he liked them. I threw some laundry in and hung out, until it was time get ready. I was feeling semi nauseous. I was hoping I would be in tip top shape for tonight.

When it was time to get ready, I took my time and did my make up. I did my stitches on my face and on my neck, like Sally has them in the movie. I was being Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas. Drew was being Jack. The two main characters in the movie. Once we we were ready, we left the house and went to Giant Eagle to pick up my cupcake cake. Drew had it made in a particular shape. He wanted to surprise me with it.  I couldn’t wait to see it.  Once we picked up the cake, it was decorated in the shape of a pumpkin. It was orange with black writing. I loved it! We also picked up an energy drink, and gum.

My parents were next to arrive, my dad had the best costume! He was a pirate. My mom was dressed as a witch. I am so glad they  dressed up. My in-laws did not dress up.

Once they arrived, we ordered food. I had a grilled cheese and fries. Andrew had a burger and fries, so did my dad. My mom had a gyro. I think my father-in-law just had wings and spinach dip.
After dinner, Anthony and Dylan showed up. Dylan brought me a card, and inside the card was a $25 Starbucks gift card. My in-laws, got me two cards. One funny one, and one cute one. In side, the funny card was a $15 dollar Starbucks gift card. I felt so blessed. I knew where I was stopping on Monday! The bar sang Happy Birthday to me, and then I blew out my candles.
When it was time to leave, Drew and I were so tired. I was ready for bed. We got home around 10pm.

Anthony and Dylan came by our house for a bit, but they didn’t get a chance to eat, since they showed up so late. I was about to wait for them to eat at the restaurant. I was so tired. Anthony was in a mood too.  When they finally left, Andrew and I got ready and went to bed. I had a feeling I was going to be so lazy tomorrow.

July 4th Weekend in Erie, PA

Today, I finished packing up the car, cleaned the house, ruined my fourth of July nails, but hey we were going to Erie! Drew got out of work an hour early, helped me finish packing the last bit of things, and he packed a bag for his stuff.

When we got to Erie, they were all outside drinking. We joined in the fun and go the weekend started.  We drank by the fire and hung out with his family, brother, and his brother’s fiancee, Megan. We had a good time relaxing, but it was early to bed. We were all tired from traveling. Tommy, Megan, and Drew worked earlier in the day, as well.

July 2, 2016:  Tobutters-selfie-2day, when everyone woke up we got showered, dressed, and went to a few different wineries, and distilleries. We tried so many different wines, took pictures, had lunch, and just hung out. It was so relaxing to get away and just have a day where we did not have to be anywhere at any time.

When we got home, we all took a nap. When Andrew and I woke up, his parents went to the grocery store to get dinner for tonight; Tommy and Megan were napping upstairs, as well. For some reason we all were so tired.

After an amazing dinner, we went to the casino. Andrew and I did not really have the money to gamble, but it was nice to go and watch everyone.

July 3rd: Today, we woke up, and went to Erie beach for a bit. Megan met us there after she went running. Tommy came along, and seemed a little miserable, but we all managed to have a good few hours at the beach. I got to wear my new pink floppy hat. I felt so glamorous.

When we got back from the beach, we all were showered, and dressed, and then Megan’s family came over. We finally got to meet her stepmom, her dad, stepsister, and their children. I think Megan and Tommy were ready for them to leave, when it was time.  That night, we had a fire going, played corn hole, drank some more, and set off fireworks. It was a great way to end such a relaxing weekend.

July 4th: Today, we left Erie around 10am, and went back to Moon Township. We brought our stuff inside, and then got ready to go to my parents’ for the 4th of July. We all went to Crafton Celebrates for dinner, and for funnel cake. It rained all day there, so the ground was wet and soggy. We did not really want to go, but it was nice to see my parents on the fourth.

After dinner, we went back to my parents’, and I laid on the couch with Andrew and my dogs. I love when I get to see them. We were so tired from our weekend; we ate and drank so much. We stayed to watch fire works with them on the front porch. It was nice, but we were ready to go home.
