Mother’s Day 2019

This morning, I got up around 8:30am. I got a shower and  dressed. I left the house and went to my parents to see my dogs and see my parents.

Around 10:45am, we left for the nail salon. I drove us to Bella’s Nails. We were the first ones there. I sat in the pedicure chair. I was getting a pedicure, and a gel full-set on my nails.  I know what you are thinking, I am not going to keep them on! However, I intend to for as long as I can. I don’t have class again until August (outside of my summer class, but that is online). The pedicure was amazing. I got the works I needed it (hot stone massage, hot towel treatment, etc.) My mom just got a simple manicure.

After the nail place, I drove my mom back to my house where we hung out with Drew until my dad came over and it was time to get dinner on the table. Drew’s parents could not attend, they were on the way home from Erie. Megan graduated yesterday.

Around 3pm I started dinner, it was so involved. My parents hung out at the ding room table and watched us prep for dinner. My mom said, “You two work so well together.” I smiled and said, “we typically do.” We get a long really well. Of course we have our set backs and things that we need to work on, but when it comes to working together in the kitchen, or decorating we do it without arguments.

Dinner was served around 4:30pm, it was so nice. My dad even tried spinach! He ate everything on his plate. I was so proud of him. After dinner, I cleaned up some little by little. It is a lot to let sit. I put the left overs away. I also played Mario Kart with my mom and dad. My dad used to play Mario Kart with me growing up on the Super Nintendo.

They left around 7pm. Drew finished cleaning up. We split up the work it seemed. It is a lot to clean up after. We got ready for another week ahead. I had just a quick, but amazing weekend!

Mother’s Day

This morning, my mom came and picked me up around 10:15am. We were running behind, but such is life. We stopped at Dunkin. I bought us coffee and 2 egg muffins. Then we were on our way to Bella Nails. I was going to treat her to a manicure, and I desperately needed a pedicure. I was excited to spend the day with her.
When we arrived at the nail salon, there was no one there. I was surprised it is Mother’s Day. They were able to take us right away. Alan, the owner’s husband did my mom’s manicure, and Amy the owner did my pedicure. I was so relaxed. My feet really needed some TLC. I decided on a gel french for my toes for vacation in a little less than a week away! I had a manicure scheduled for next Saturday at 1pm. I was going to get a gel french then too as well. I am so excited for my trip to England and France.
When we left the nail salon, we went back to my parents. I was able to see my pups again for a bit, then it was off to Drew’s parents. I was going to meet him at his mom and dads. He had to go pick up Aunt Tootsie and bring her to his parents for dinner. His uncle Steve and Aunt Maryann were attending dinner as well.
When we arrived at his parents, Aunt Tootsie and Drew just arrived as well. I was happy to see Drew. He said my toes looked pretty. We greeted everyone and then Steve and MaryAnn arrived. Shortly after, it was time to sit down and eat. We had hamburgers and hot dogs once again, along with sausages and macaroni salad. It was all so yummy. For desert, we had Aunt Tootsie’s lemon cake and apple pie. I had a few Stella Artois’ I wasn’t driving.
After dinner, we all sat around and chatted. Then we got up and got ready to go visit Grandma in the nursing home. Andrew’s mom left ahead of us, she wanted to stop at Giant Eagle and pick up some flowers for her. I couldn’t wait to see Grandma. It has been a while since we were able to visit her.
When we arrived at the nursing home, we kissed her and gave her a hug. We wished her happy Mother’s Day. She was sitting up eating some of the topping from the lemon cake that we all had for dessert. This woman is a fighter, so strong. We stayed and visited for an hour or two, then said goodbye. We probably won’t be able to see her again, until we get back from England.
When we arrived home, I put some laundry in the washer, got a shower, and then put some PJs on. We then went started rolling up some loose change into some wrappers. I think counting and wrapping change is relaxing. We watched movies on TV, and then it was time for bed around 10pm. I put the towels in the dryer. Tomorrow was Monday.

Halloween Party

This morning, I woke up and got ready to go to Crafton. I had a nail appointment at Bella’s Nails in Noblestown. I was meeting my mom at my parents’ house then we would drive to the Nail salon together. She was getting her nails done too.

When I arrived into Crafton, I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got my mom two pumpkin coffees and my dad a chocolate donut. When I got to my parents, my dad was so happy and surprised with his donut. I said hi to my dogs, and then we were on our way to the nail salon.

When we arrived, I sat in Anna’s chair, and my mom sat next to me. Anna was going to do my nails first, then my mom’s. While I was soaking my feet for my pedicure, she was going to finish up my mom. It took a little over 2 hours to be completely done. My mom and I tried the SNS dip powder nails. It is this powder that they dip your nails in, and it supposedly it has nutrients in it, and makes your nails grow. I wasn’t sure about that, but I am excited to see how long it lasts. I love having my nails and toes done. It has been so long since my last pedicure. My nails and toes are a dark purple, almost like a plum. Fall means dark colors!

After our nail appointment, my nail trip costs me $90.00, not including a tip. I know this is a special occasion. My mom and I met my dad at Hanlon’s in the shopping center and we had breakfast. Then it was back to my parents. I wanted to try on the white tights that I had for my costume tonight. I  knew my mom would give me her honest opinion on whether or not they fit properly. Thankfully, when I tried them on they fit. I was ready for tonight. I couldn’t wait.

When I got back to Moon, Drew just got home. He asked how my nail appointment went and if I had fun? I told him it was so relaxing. I showed him my nails and my toes I think he liked them. I threw some laundry in and hung out, until it was time get ready. I was feeling semi nauseous. I was hoping I would be in tip top shape for tonight.

When it was time to get ready, I took my time and did my make up. I did my stitches on my face and on my neck, like Sally has them in the movie. I was being Sally from the Nightmare before Christmas. Drew was being Jack. The two main characters in the movie. Once we we were ready, we left the house and went to Giant Eagle to pick up my cupcake cake. Drew had it made in a particular shape. He wanted to surprise me with it.  I couldn’t wait to see it.  Once we picked up the cake, it was decorated in the shape of a pumpkin. It was orange with black writing. I loved it! We also picked up an energy drink, and gum.

My parents were next to arrive, my dad had the best costume! He was a pirate. My mom was dressed as a witch. I am so glad they  dressed up. My in-laws did not dress up.

Once they arrived, we ordered food. I had a grilled cheese and fries. Andrew had a burger and fries, so did my dad. My mom had a gyro. I think my father-in-law just had wings and spinach dip.
After dinner, Anthony and Dylan showed up. Dylan brought me a card, and inside the card was a $25 Starbucks gift card. My in-laws, got me two cards. One funny one, and one cute one. In side, the funny card was a $15 dollar Starbucks gift card. I felt so blessed. I knew where I was stopping on Monday! The bar sang Happy Birthday to me, and then I blew out my candles.
When it was time to leave, Drew and I were so tired. I was ready for bed. We got home around 10pm.

Anthony and Dylan came by our house for a bit, but they didn’t get a chance to eat, since they showed up so late. I was about to wait for them to eat at the restaurant. I was so tired. Anthony was in a mood too.  When they finally left, Andrew and I got ready and went to bed. I had a feeling I was going to be so lazy tomorrow.
