Christmas Day

This morning, I could tell Drew was a little better, but not one 100%. We still were going to go to his parents for Christmas. My parents were meeting us over there for dinner. I was excited to spend the day with everyone, but I was worried about Drew. He wasn’t doing so well.

When we arrived to his parents, we hung out and opened gifts with Tommy and Megan.

Tommy and Megan got Drew a nice Eddie Bauer zip up, and they gave me a pink champagne 3-wick candle from Pier 1. I love Pier 1, candles, and pink champagne. They also gave us a $50 gift card to Lowes. We gave them together with a gift card to Amazon and I bought Megan a little wine glass ornament with a Santa hat on it.

I finally got to meet Waffles. I was glad to finally meet him. He has the sweetest little personality. He just comes right up to you and kisses you and pounces on you.

Butters on the other hand, just wants you to throw him the ball. He is not about kisses and cuddles. Tommy and Megan said he is the athlete.

After gifts,  Drew and I went to get Aunt Toostie. We took his mom’s car. Chippewa is a bit of drive from his parents, but we made it. Aunt Tootsie was so glad to see us. She filled us in on what has been going on with her.
When we arrived back to my in-laws my parents arrived shortly after. I was glad to see them. I love it when we are all together. I just wish Drew felt better. Dinner was a huge spread. Drew seemed to have an appetite. I was glad of that.
After dinner, we hung out for a while, we decided not to go see Grandma. We would see her sometime during the week. We didn’t want her getting sick and getting what Drew had.

New Years Eve

New Years Eve

When we woke up, we went to the gym, and got a little work out in, then I came home, and did some more laundry. We made a nice dinner, and had a few drank together. We had a great New Year’s Eve, but I was so hormonal.

On top of the fact, that New Year’s Eve, makes me uneasy already. It always has. In the blink of the moment, 2016 will be over, and it will be on to another year, whether we are ready for it or not. I hate not knowing what is around the corner, but I was ready for 2017..sort of?

Christmas Day

In the morning, we woke up we opened gifts with each other, and then got ready to go to his parents’. We already knew each other’s gifts. I received a FitBit Alta from Drew. I gave Drew wireless headphones that are like mine, but they are black. We relaxed, until it was time to get Grandma. We had to pick Grandma up at 12pm, then go to Oakdale to his parent’s new house.
After we got there, my parents showed up, and it was so nice to have my parents there. We were finally all together on a holiday! Megan and I drank wine together all day. It was nice and relaxing. My mom helped clean up with Aunt Tootsie in the kitchen. I was glad everyone was there. It makes things so much easier, on Drew and I without having to travel back and forth on Christmas. We left around 8pm and took Grandma home. It is hard to get her in and out of the car. Once we got home, we relaxed for the rest of the evening. Another Christmas in the books.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

My Christmas Eve traditions have changed over the years. We used to go to my Aunt and Uncle’s in Upper Saint Clair, up until my Aunt and my Grandma passed away. The traditions in the family have changed. So ever since our family traditions changed, we have been going to my parent’s friends’.

We went to my parent’s around 1pm, opened gifts then went to Christmas Eve mass. After church, we went home fed the dogs, and then got ready to go to Carol and Fred’s. It was nice, but I am ready to relive the magic of Christmas again. Christmas used to be so magical, when I was a child, and as I became adult it lost its magic in a way to me. I think as an adult, the magic is being with the one’s you love, until children come along, and then you create the magic for them.  I am ready for a new Christmas tradition.

Thanksgiving

Today, is Thanksgiving! I woke up and went downstairs and turned on the Thanksgiving Day parade. We were supposed to go to Bucca today with our families, but since his mom only came home from the hospital on Tuesday, thanksgiving was not going to happen that way. I honestly, didn’t want to go to Bucca. I was glad we were going to my parents for thanksgiving dinner. We did have to stop and see Grandma after.

At dinner, we had a small traditional thanksgiving. Turkey and the fixings. Dad had a cold. Drew looked like he missed his family. After dinner, we went to his Grandma’s and brought her a plate. She of course was so happy to see us. I put her plate in the fridge, but she wanted the dessert plate now. Grandma was asking us about mom and about Christmas. I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if she cancels it this year, her leg is up and she bound to that chair until she can bear weight. Grandma said, oh no she won’t cancel it. I just shrugged my shoulders. Grandma looks forward to the holidays, and doesn’t have much going on. We stayed for a little while, but then it was time to go home. I couldn’t wait. I am still all annoyed.
